Arc Raiders Has A New Feature Where It Just Refuses To Let You Shoot People
There is nothing quite like the adrenaline rush of grappling into a firefight, only to discover your character has decided to embrace a vow of non-violence at the worst possible moment.
We are all used to Arc Raiders being a brutal experience. The machines want you dead, other players want your loot, and gravity is often a suggestion rather than a law. But recently, the most dangerous thing in Speranza isn't a giant robot or a sweaty sniper, it is your own inventory. A nasty new bug is circulating that effectively disarms players, leaving them standing there like idiots while they get turned into Swiss cheese. I call it the "Pacifist Glitch," and it is absolutely infuriating.
Even The Pros Are Getting Disarmed
It is not just us plebs suffering in silence. The glitch has hit the big leagues. Clips are surfacing of high-profile streamers grappling into combat, mashing their weapon swap keys, and getting absolutely nothing in return.
As spotted by Jake Lucky, Ninja recently grappled into a fight, ready to clutch up, only to realize his gun was stuck in the void. He spent his final moments frantically explaining to his team that he literally couldn't shoot, which is a fantastic excuse that, for once, was actually true. Nadeshot has apparently run into the same issue. If the game is breaking for the guys with the most expensive setups on the planet, what hope do the rest of us have?
The Community Is Losing It
The replies to these clips are filled with players realizing they weren't crazy. "Thought I was losing it for real," one user replied, echoing the sentiment of everyone who has died while furiously clicking a mouse that refuses to fire.
It seems to trigger often after using traversal tools like the grapple, which is tragic because that is exactly when you want to look cool, not defenseless. Some players report they can pull out their main gun but not their secondary, while others are left with nothing but their hands and a prayer.
The Sound of Silence (From The Devs)
As of right now, Embark Studios hasn't officially commented on why our Raiders are suddenly forgetting how to hold guns. The issue is gaining traction fast, so hopefully, a hotfix is already in the oven. Until then, maybe think twice before grappling directly into a squad of three. Or just accept your fate as a bullet sponge.
I love Arc Raiders, but losing a run because the code decided I didn't need a gun is a special kind of pain. We deal with enough nonsense from the physics engine; we don't need our weapons going on strike too. Embark, please fix this before I throw my mouse through my monitor.
