Don't Lose Your Balls: How to Manually Transfer Your Ball x Pit Demo Save
So you spent hours in the Ball x Pit demo, unlocking all sorts of goodies and perfecting your runs, only to fire up the full game and find yourself back at square one. It's a frustrating hiccup, but don't worry, your progress isn't lost to the void.
It seems the automatic save transfer is being a bit temperamental for some people. The good news is there's a pretty simple manual fix. You just have to play the role of a digital delivery driver and move some files from one folder to another.
For the Windows Warlords
This is the easy part. You just need to navigate to the demo's save folder and copy everything over to the folder for the full game. Make sure you've run the full game at least once to create the destination folder.
First, copy everything from this folder: C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\LocalLow\Kenny Sun\BALL x PIT Demo
Then, paste it all into this folder, overwriting anything that's there: C:\Users\<YOUR USERNAME>\AppData\LocalLow\Kenny Sun\BALL x PIT
That's it. Fire the game back up and your progress should be there waiting for you.
For the Steam Deck Crew
This is a bit more fiddly, but completely doable. You'll need to switch over to Desktop Mode to get this done. Also, a heads-up from other players: you might need to enable "Show Hidden Files" to see the folders you're looking for.
The process is the same, but the file paths are a bit of a nightmare.
Your demo save location is here: Home/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/3651790/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Kenny Sun/BALL x PIT Demo
Copy all the files from that folder. Now, navigate to the full game's save location: Home/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2062430/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/Kenny Sun/BALL x PIT
One user mentioned they had to delete the files inside this folder before pasting the demo files. If a simple copy-paste doesn't work, give that a shot.
A final, crucial warning for everyone: Do not uninstall the demo before you do this. Uninstalling might nuke your save folder, and then you'll really be starting over from scratch. Good luck, and happy busting.
