Battlefield 6 Beta Dates Leak, Get Ready for Two Weekends of Mayhem in August
It looks like the wait to get our hands on Battlefield 6 might be shorter than anticipated. A new exclusive report from Insider Gaming has revealed potential plans for two separate beta periods in August, giving players a couple of chances to dive into the action before the game's official launch this fall.
Your First Tour of Duty
According to anonymous sources cited in the report, the first wave of action is set to kick off with a closed beta on August 7th and 8th. Getting access to this early window will apparently require one of two things: pre-ordering the game or watching one of the hundreds of content creators who will be streaming the game's multiplayer reveal event to get a code via Twitch drops. Pre-orders are expected to go live during that same reveal event.
For those who don't want to open their wallets just yet, it's believed that the beta will then open up to everyone for a brief open beta phase on August 9th and 10th.
Round Two
If you miss out on that first weekend, it seems you'll get another shot. The report indicates that a second, longer Open Beta is also planned to run from August 14th to August 17th. This second window will likely serve as a major server stress test and give the wider community a solid taste of the game.
The Elephant in the Room
One major question mark still hanging over the game is its rumored free-to-play Battle Royale mode. The sources noted that it is currently unclear whether EA and DICE plan to announce the mode at the upcoming multiplayer reveal or if they intend to save that reveal for a later date.
For now, it seems the focus is squarely on the core multiplayer experience.
Battlefield 6 is scheduled to launch on October 10, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC, with a price tag of $69.99.
