How to Get the Pirate Shop Access Token in Fortnite Treasure Hunters

The Pirate Shop Access token makes everything in the Fortnite Item Shop free for 14 days, and in Treasure Hunters it can drop from any chest with a spawn chance of 1 in 700,000.

What the token gives you

One drop hands over two tokens. One can be used before December 15, 2026 and the other opens up at the start of 2027, so a single lucky chest covers two separate free windows. You redeem them yourself in the Item Shop, at the bottom right, and each one makes the whole shop free for 14 days, bundles and sidekicks and outfits included. Anything that needs a real-money purchase stays locked, and the tokens can’t be used to gift cosmetics to anyone else. What you buy during the window is yours for good, and since you redeem manually, I’d wait for a shop rotation with plenty you actually want.

The odds

The 1 in 700,000 spawn chance is the one confirmed rate, and it applies to chests of every kind, from the default wooden ones to the blue Rare ones. The reward pool holds other prizes too, like the Solid Gold A$AP Rocky outfit and the Extraction Gizmos, so a chest doesn’t automatically mean a token. Even 200 or more chests can leave you empty-handed, so I’d treat the token as a long shot and anything else that drops as a win.

Play squad fills

If anyone in your squad opens a chest and gets the token, everyone in the squad gets it, so queueing solo throws away free attempts. Squad Fills in either Battle Royale or Zero Build works, and random teammates count. Split up after the Battle Bus and send everyone to a different part of the map, since staying together just means opening the same chests. A token claimed by one of you stays claimed even if another team eliminates that person afterward.

Land where the chests are

Each person should land at a different chest-heavy spot, and The Chest, Lantern Landing, Arlong Park and Fortune’s Fort are the four best bets. With a full lobby of 80, a tidy route clears 30 chests and can stretch to 50. Fortune’s Fort is the strongest pick if someone in the squad knows the secret waterfall loot cave there.

Vault Keys

If a Vault Key drops, go find the vault it opens. It holds a lot of chests in one place, and usually at least 4 of them are Rare ones. Any chest can drop the token, so a vault is a big batch of rolls in a single stop.

Sprites and chest recharge

The Fortune Chester Sprite reveals nearby chests and has a chance to spawn extra loot from them. The Fortune Plundarrgh Sprite also reveals chests, and every chest you open makes you faster, which gets you to the next one before other teams do. You’ll have to trade for it or get lucky. Chests recharge over time too, so one you’ve already emptied can be looted again if you return to that area later.

Bot lobbies

Skip bot lobbies. The token doesn’t appear to be obtainable there, so the chests worth opening for it are the ones in matches with real players.
