Geoff Keighley Drops the First ONL 2025 Breadcrumbs, and It's a Heavy-Hitting Lineup
The high priest of video game hype, Geoff Keighley, has officially begun the ritualistic summoning of excitement for Gamescom Opening Night Live. In a tweet that set keyboards ablaze, Keighley confirmed the first seven games slated to appear during the two-hour showcase on Tuesday, giving us a pretty clear picture of the corporate behemoths that will be dominating the stage.

The Official Lineup (So Far)
As expected, Microsoft is coming in hot, flexing its recent acquisitions. The show will feature the recently-leaked Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, because it wouldn't be a major gaming event without a CoD trailer. We're also getting our first real look at Obsidian’s much-anticipated RPG sequel, The Outer Worlds 2, and the surprise resurrection of Ninja Gaiden 4. Rounding out the Xbox offerings is a peek at World of Warcraft: Midnight, the next chapter in the seemingly immortal MMO. Not to be outdone, Sony is bringing its PlayStation 5 exclusive Ghost of Yotei, while Capcom plans to scare our pants off with the hotly anticipated Resident Evil Requiem. Finally, Konami is dragging Silent Hill f out of the fog and onto the stage.
The Whispers and the Sure Bets
Of course, that’s not the whole story. On top of the official list, we know a few other titles will be crashing the party. We're getting a reveal for Lords of the Fallen 2, and the developers of the blockbuster Black Myth: Wukong have confirmed an appearance, likely to either show off an Xbox trailer or, if fans get their wish, finally announce some DLC. The event will also feature an appearance related to Fallout Season 2 and a musical performance for the gorgeous-looking RPG Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
And then there's the ghost at the feast: Hollow Knight: Silksong. With the game confirmed to be playable at Gamescom, the collective desperation for a release date has reached a fever pitch. Keighley hasn't mentioned it, but if that game doesn't show up at ONL, the internet might just implode.
So, it looks like this year’s Opening Night Live is shaping up to be a parade of massive sequels and big-budget behemoths. We’ll be watching on Tuesday to see what surprises, if any, are still hiding up Keighley’s sleeve.
