My Winter Car’s New FL2S Box Mod is the Only Way to Survive the Cold Without Losing Your Mind
Finnish winter is a cold-hearted bitch, and the FL2S Box is the only reason I haven't uninstalled My Winter Car yet.
If you played the original, you know the drill. You spend six hours building a motor only to have a single loose bolt turn your car into a metal coffin. My Winter Car takes that same "fuck you" attitude and turns it up to eleven. It is a game that prides itself on being a miserable, frozen slog. That is why seeing a mod like the FL2S Box pop up is like finding a bottle of vodka in a snowbank. It is an all-in-one cheat menu built to strip away the bullshit so you can actually enjoy the car building.
Breaking the Cycle of Finnish Misery
This mod isn't some subtle tweak. It is a full-blown assault on the game's difficulty. Developed by FL2S and built from scratch, this menu gives you the kind of power that the developers clearly never intended for you to have. You get a money hack for when you are tired of being broke and infinite stats so you can stop worrying about dying of thirst while you are under a chassis. It even has a permadeath toggle, which is a literal life-saver when the game's physics decide to launch you into orbit for no reason.
The Ultimate Spawner and Teleport Tool
The latest 0.3 update turned this into a serious piece of kit. You now have an item spawner with a predefined list, letting you drop car hoists and motor hoists exactly where you need them. No more dragging a heavy jack across the map like a pack mule. If you get bored of the scenery, the teleport system has built-in presets for the shop, the pub, and even your parents' house. It even includes a fly mode (noclip) that lets you phase through walls, with the ability to change your speed on the fly using the scroll wheel.
Installation and Survival
Setting this up is easy enough that even a frostbitten raider can do it. You will need MelonLoader version 0.7.1 installed first. Once you have that, you just drop the .dll into your Mods folder and you are golden. The default key to open the menu is F5, and V toggles the noclip mode. If you hate those binds, you can edit them in the config file, though the latest version also lets you change them in-game via the settings tab.
It is an early build, so expect a few bugs, but the developer is already planning better teleport saving and QOL changes. Honestly, it is the only way to play if you actually value your time. My Winter Car is still a nightmare, but at least with this box, I am the one holding the torch. You can track the progress of future updates on the official FL2S Box Trello board.
