How To Serve A 160-Hour Prison Sentence In Under 30 Minutes In ‘Where Winds Meet’
Most people play open-world RPGs to become heroes, but apparently, you deviants just want to know how to go to jail as fast as possible.
There are completionists, and then there are masochists. Where Winds Meet caters to the latter with two specific achievements: "Life Sentence" and "Prison Blues." To unlock the first, you need to serve 40 hours of in-game jail time for a messy hairstyle. To get the second, and the coveted "Forgotten: Rags" outfit, you need to serve a staggering 160 hours.
Considering the maximum sentence you can get for a single crime spree is 8 hours, doing this the "honest" way would take weeks of your actual life. I don't know about you, but I am not leaving my PC on for a week just to unlock a hobo outfit. Thankfully, there is a way to cheese the justice system and get this done in about half an hour.
The Mathematics of Crime
To hit that 160-hour target, you need to trigger the maximum 8-hour sentence exactly 20 times. The trick isn't serving the time, it is getting arrested and bribing your way out as fast as humanly possible.
I found a method that streamlines this process into a loop of violence, drowning, and bribery. You are going to need a lot of coins (about 57,000 per arrest), so make sure your wallet is ready before you start your life of crime.
The Speedrun Method
The goal here is to rack up "Evil" points instantly so the guards throw the book at you, then reset the loop.
1. Dress for Failure Equip the Nameless Spear and your worst gear. You want to attack civilians to trigger the crime rating, not instantly murder them (well, usually).
2. The Crime Scene Teleport to the Velvet Shade waypoint in Kaifeng City. Right near the pier, you will see two siblings debating whether to take a boat. They are your victims.
3. The Assault (Single Player) While in Single Player mode, unleash a fully charged Channeling Attack (hold R on PC) on the siblings. Do this twice.
4. The Mode Switch This is the key to the exploit. Immediately switch your game to Online Mode.
5. The Repeat Offender Teleport back to the Velvet Shade waypoint (you are now in the Online instance). Attack those poor siblings again with the charged spear attack. Keep doing it until the game flashes a warning that you have repeatedly violated the law and a prison sentence awaits.
6. The Easy Way Out Do not fight the guards. Do not run away. Instead, jump into the water next to the pier and drown. Seriously. Just swim until your health hits zero.
7. Pay to Win When you "die," you will respawn in prison. Instead of waiting out the timer, pay the bribe (roughly 57,000 coins) to release yourself instantly.
Rinse and Repeat
Congratulations, you just logged 8 hours of "time served" in about 90 seconds. Now you just have to do it 19 more times.
If you are tight on cash, you can theoretically ask other players to break you out of jail for free, but that relies on social interaction and adds massive time to the process. If you want the Rags outfit right now, bribery is the only way to fly.
It is expensive, tedious, and involves drowning yourself repeatedly, but it beats staring at a prison wall for 160 real-world hours.
