The Sickos Behind Little Nightmares Are Back with REANIMAL, and You Can Play It Right Now
If you woke up today thinking, "I really need to see some adorable children get chased by flesh-monsters," then Tarsier Studios has a treat for you.
Tarsier Studios, the original developers who scarred us all for life with Little Nightmares, have finally put a date on their next project. REANIMAL is launching on February 13, 2026. Nothing says "Happy Valentine's Day" quite like cooperative survival horror involving orphans on a hell island.
The game is coming to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and yes, they explicitly confirmed it for the Nintendo Switch 2.
Go Get Traumatized for Free
You don't even have to wait to see if this is your brand of horror. THQ Nordic just dropped a demo for the game today. Right now.
You can hop onto Steam, the PlayStation Store, or the Xbox Store and download the "opening chapters" immediately. It takes you through the Mill and the Trainyard, which sound like lovely, safe places where nothing bad will happen to small children.
If you're on the Switch 2 train, you're going to have to wait a bit longer for your demo, but for everyone else, the nightmare is open for business.
Horror With a Friend
The big hook this time around is that you don't have to suffer alone. The game is fully built for co-op, both local and online. You play as a brother and sister trying to rescue their missing friends, which is a Tarsier staple at this point.
They’re calling the vibe "Horror With Hope," which sounds like marketing speak for "we will give you a tiny shred of optimism before we crush it with a giant, twisted monster."
Visually, it looks disgusting in the best way possible. It has that signature Tarsier "dollhouse from hell" aesthetic, but with a shared, directed camera designed to make you feel claustrophobic even when you're with a buddy.
The Damage to Your Wallet
When it launches next February, the standard edition will cost you €39.99. That seems pretty fair for a AA nightmare simulator.
Of course, if you really want to lean into the weirdness, there's a €59.99 Digital Deluxe Edition. That one comes with the Season Pass and some exclusive Foxhead and Muttonhead masks. Because in a world of unspeakable horrors, your best defense is apparently wearing a sheep's head.
I’m going to go download the demo and regret my life choices. See you on the island.
