The wait is finally over. Anno 117: Pax Romana is just days away, and Ubisoft has dropped the full schedule for our descent into Roman-themed madness.

It's time to trade my real-world responsibilities for the much more pressing concern of aqueduct placement. The Anno 1800 successor is here to consume our lives, and now we know exactly when the hostile takeover begins.

Clear Your Drives: Preload and File Size

Let's get the painful part out of the way. This game is a monster. Ubisoft has confirmed Anno 117 requires 117 GB of your precious SSD space. Yes, 117 GB for Anno 117. How poetic. My drive is already weeping.

At least they're giving us a head start. The preload for PC players (like me) kicks off today, Monday, November 10, at 18:00 MEZ (6 PM).

The console rollout is a bit weird. Xbox Series X/S players, in a rare show of efficiency, can apparently already start their download. PlayStation 5 users, however, have to wait until midnight tonight (0:00 MEZ on November 11) to get started.

The Midnight Launch

This is a classic, sleep-destroying launch. The game officially unlocks for everyone in my time zone (MEZ) at 0:00 on Thursday, November 13. That's midnight. There goes my productivity for the rest of the week.

For my friends in the States, this is actually good news. The game unlocks globally at the same moment, meaning players in Los Angeles can start their Roman conquest at a very reasonable 3:00 PM (PST) on Wednesday, November 12.

Hype Streams and Giveaways

Ubisoft is, of course, rolling out the full launch-week circus to celebrate. They've got a "Community-Vorfreude-Event" (a fantastic German word) streaming on November 12 and a big official launch-day stream on the 13th.

If you can't wait, the gorgeous orchestral soundtrack is already available on YouTube and other streaming platforms to get you in the proper empire-building mood.

Oh, and for those in Germany, there's a giveaway with ALTERNATE to win some fancy editions, but you have to be lightning-fast. The deadline to enter is tomorrow, November 12, at 11:00 AM sharp.
