Holy Shit, ARC Raiders Just Beat Helldivers 2's All-Time Steam Record

It took less than a week for the new king to take the crown.

A dynamic third-person view from Arc Raiders showing a Raider under fire from a massive four-legged enemy mech and flying drones, set against a bright, hazy sunset.

I am genuinely struggling to keep up.

Just yesterday, I was writing about how ARC Raiders had smashed 400,000 players. I thought that was the peak. I was wrong.

As of right now, ARC Raiders has hit an all-time peak of 459,716 players on Steam.

That's not just a big number. That officially dethrones the all-time peak of Helldivers 2, which topped out at 458,709.

This is fucking insane. A €40 premium extraction shooter, from a studio on its second-ever game, just beat the concurrent player record of one of the biggest, most beloved co-op phenomena of the last decade.

This Is Not a Fluke

So, how the hell did this happen? It's not a mystery. It's because Embark actually listened.

They built an extraction shooter that isn't a full-time job. They built a game that respects your time. There's no "gear fear". You have free loadouts. You can extract even when you're downed.

It's the Tarkov loop without the misery. It's the "adventure" we were all craving. It's a game that's fun to play, not just stressful to survive.

The Goodwill Is Paying Off

This isn't just about the gameplay, though. This is a story about developer goodwill, something Helldivers 2 also had in spades.

Embark is on a flawless run. Their servers catch fire from half-a-million people logging in? They give everyone 500 free Raider Tokens. You die to a cheater? They literally give you your gear back.

They drop a stacked two-month roadmap before the first week is even over. They are showing us they're committed, not just telling us.

This is history in the making, and it's super, super well deserved. I'm going back in.
