Fortnite is Finally Getting the Chainsaw Treatment It Deserves
Denji is trading his heart for a V-Buck victory royale, and honestly, the machines are probably safer than the players.
I’ve seen a lot of weird shit in the Battle Bus, from Peter Griffin's giant chin to Ariana Grande wielding a shotgun, but nothing quite prepares the soul for the inevitable arrival of Public Safety Devil Hunters. According to recent leaks from the guy who correctly called the Bleach crossover, Epic Games is currently working on a massive Chainsaw Man collaboration that is set to drop sometime in 2026. It feels like every month we get a new anime skin, and yet the dark, visceral energy of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s world feels like a much-needed slap in the face for a game that’s been looking a bit too "cutesy" lately. If I have to see Makima doing the Griddy after headshotting me from three hundred meters away, I might actually lose it, but God help me, I will be buying the bundle anyway.
The Devil Arrives in the Loop
The leak comes directly from SamLeakss on X, a name that has gained a hell of a lot of weight in the community recently for being consistently right. The "Chainsaw Man x Fortnite" rumor has been floating around for a year, but this is the first time we’ve had a reputable source confirm that the gears are actually turning at Epic. The timing makes perfect sense, especially since the Reze Arc movie has been a massive box office hit and the anime's reputation for being "too edgy for TV" fits perfectly with the older demographic Fortnite is aggressively targeting these days.
More Than Just a Pair of Chainsaws
What makes a collaboration like this interesting isn't just the skins, it's the potential for "Mythics" on the map. Imagine finding Denji’s chainsaws as a high-tier loot item that lets you dash and shred through builds like they are made of wet paper. Or maybe a Makima "Bang" mythic that functions like a high-powered railgun. It’s a fucking terrifying thought for anyone trying to play a standard game of Battle Royale, but that’s the beauty of these anime drops. They break the meta for a month and leave everyone screaming about balance until the next shiny thing arrives.
The Reze Dance Factor
You cannot talk about Chainsaw Man in 2026 without mentioning the Reze dance. It has been plastered all over my feed for weeks, and Epic Games knows exactly how to capitalize on a viral moment. I would bet my last V-Buck that the "Reze Dance" will be an icon series emote released alongside her skin. It is the kind of savvy, internet-brained move that keeps this game relevant while other shooters are struggling to sell basic recolors for twenty bucks.
Wave 1 vs Wave 2
Usually, Fortnite drops these in waves of four. Naruto had two waves, and Bleach is following a similar pattern. If we don't see Reze or Kobeni in the first drop, do not panic. Epic likes to milk these franchises for everything they are worth, and a second wave featuring the villains or the side characters is a safe bet for late 2026. For now, the focus is clearly on the core four: Denji, Aki, Power, and Makima.
I’m going to be honest, the thought of Pochita being a back-bling is the only thing keeping me going this week. It is a cynical, corporate mashup, but when the source material is this good, I find it hard to care. Get your wallets ready, because when this drops, the island is going to be a bloodbath.
