Deltarune Chapter 5 Guide: Chasing the Pink Coins
If you want to crack open the Pink Door and fight the secret boss inside, you need a healthy stash of Pink Coins.
You can track down a total of 19 coins hidden across the Garden, Cliffs, and Castle, but you only strictly need 10 of them to buy the Mysterious Key. Before you waste three hours running in circles around the map, my best advice is to finish the main campaign first. Beating the story unlocks a magic door at the top of Flower Castle that grants you fast travel, turning a frustrating marathon into a quick cleanup job.
Essential Gear
Before you can even reach a single pink chest, you have to secure the Petal Feather.
You earn this item by taking out the Aqua boss, and it turns on all the 2D platforming sections you need to navigate. Squashing Aqua also activates the Mysterious Structure mechanic. You will use this constantly to shift the environment around and open up new jumping paths to reach the bells.
Garden Locations
Four coins are hiding out in the Garden. Using the magic door makes grabbing them a breeze.
Garden Coin 1: Take the magic door to the main area, smack the Mysterious Structure to shift the ground, and dash left over the gap to hit a hanging bell.
Garden Coin 2: Go back to the Shrine entrance where you grabbed the Petal Feather. Hit the structure, climb left up the leafy platforms, cross over the temple roof, and clear the next set of leaves to ring another bell.
Garden Coin 3: Remember the beginner zone where Flowery helped you fight the Floradinn? Grab the water canister to build a path left of the scissors, then climb all the way up for a chest.
Garden Coin 4: Head to the right of the HopsChef, survive the platforming sequence, and dash right through the Torii Gate to find a pink chest. If a gap ever looks mathematically impossible to cross, always check for one of these gates nearby.
Cliff Locations
The Cliffs hold four more coins along two massive vertical climbs. The fast travel routes save you a ridiculous amount of manual labor here.
Cliffs Coin 1: Warp to the First Climb and head up the right side vines. When the path hooks left, hit the structure next to the petals. Jump left, drop, then have Ralsei climb back up so you can land a mid-air jump on the ledge with the bell.
Cliffs Coin 2: Right after that first bell, climb the nearby vines and go right while dodging the falling rocks. You'll easily spot the coin tucked under a waterfall.
Cliffs Coin 3: Go right from the Cliffs shop to find two windmills. Hit the first one to start the giant flowers spinning. Drop down to the vines, stick Ralsei to the bottom of a moving flower, and ride it safely past the blades into a cave. Wipe out the enemies, grab the bell, and hit the second windmill to get back.
Cliffs Coin 4: Take the Netskie Climb warp, scale the vines, and go right at the fork. Look for the structure inside the cave and nail the dash landing without plummeting to your doom. Getting this one makes perfect cents (I am so sorry for that one).
Castle Locations
The Castle is absolutely packed with the remaining 11 coins. I spent the bulk of my time here digging through the East, West, and Top wings.
Castle East
The eastern wing holds eight coins. I put together a quick reference list below so you know exactly what weird puzzles you are walking into. Keep a close eye on the Fox Room, because you need to hunt down five hidden foxes before the locked door opens. Four are wandering around the room, and the last one is blending in with decorative paws behind a paper wall.
Castle West
Only two coins live in the western wing, but they are incredibly annoying to grab.
Before you dive in here, if you haven't actually beaten the boss duo keeping watch over this area, you might want to read my Deltarune Chapter 5 Guide: How to Beat Yellow and Blue before stressing over secrets.
West Coin 1: Warp to Blue's Room and go right to find the bouncing flowers. Pull your left stick straight down to maximize your bounce height. Ground level needs the bottom, middle-left, and top flowers. Level two needs all three. The final level is a brutal chain: you have to hit the bottom three, the middle, the top, and finally the rightmost flower to reach the bell.
West Coin 2: Leave Blue's Room, walk back through the Blue Door, and take the left stairs down. Hit the structure and carefully navigate a gauntlet of massive Shurikens. Keep your jumps tiny. Getting hit deals damage and instantly resets you, but if you fall without taking a hit, you can easily recover.
Castle Top
The final two coins are sitting at the absolute peak of Flower Castle.
Top Coin 1: Climb the huge platform room past Green's shop and survive the parkour. Take a left at the split and swing across the flowers to grab the bell.
Top Coin 2: Smack the flower near the last coin to spawn a new platform. Strike the windmill for an updraft and take a massive leap of faith downward. You'll need to slash away flowers mid-air and dodge giant fire rings on your way down.
Survive the fall, and you'll literally land right next to the Pink Door and your 19th coin. Fork over 10 of them for the Mysterious Key, open up the door, and get ready for a seriously wild boss fight.
