Deltarune Chapter 5 Guide: Every Cafe Interaction Explained

Before you blow all your Flowery Dollars on useless healing items, you need to save some cash to witness the absolute chaos happening in the local cafe.

A Deltarune gameplay screenshot showing a yellow NPC in a cowboy hat and a green character in Queen's Mansion, with a dialogue box at the bottom reading "Fer examples,".

Not long after you survive the courtroom madness of the Blue and Yellow boss fight, you finally gain access to the Chapter 5 cafe. It functions as a standard hub where you can save your game and buy supplies, but the real draw here is the "Flower Team Time" break system. You can spend your hard earned Flowery Dollars to watch different characters sit down and have deeply weird conversations with each other.

A handful of these are unlocked right from the start. To get the rest, you have to push through the main story and beat the various flower bosses holding down the Dark World.

How to Unlock More Conversations

The cafe roster expands as you win over the different colors. Every time you beat a duo in combat, their specific cafe scenes become available.

If you are struggling to clear the roster, I highly recommend checking out my Deltarune Chapter 5 Guide: How to Beat Orange and Green to get past their annoying healing loop. I also have a Deltarune Chapter 5 Guide: How to Beat Yellow and Blue if you need the trial answers.

The most elusive interactions belong to Pink. You have to beat the chapter's secret boss to invite her to the cafe. That requires tracking down the hidden currency first, so read my Deltarune Chapter 5 Guide: All 19 Pink Coin Locations to grab the Mystery Key. If you just want to see the conversations before taking on the final boss, head back to the cafe right before fighting Flowery.

The Complete Cafe Interaction List

There are over two dozen unique conversations to unlock. I mapped out exactly who talks to who and what ridiculous situations unfold when you put them in a room togetherThe Setup and Requirements

Characters Involved Conversation Details
Aqua & Kris Aqua asks Kris to change forms and questions why they cannot cast spells. Kris ends up wearing an outfit that literally looks like a spell.
Aqua & Yellow Aqua asks if playing with knives is justice. Yellow calmly informs her that knives are never justice, but guns are.
Aqua & Green Aqua asks Green to teach her the art of fire. Green responds by handing her a block of cheese.
Aqua & Seth Aqua asks about Seth's gender. Seth claims true tacticians never reveal unnecessary info. Aqua mocks them, prompting the rest of the cast to show up and define themselves.
Aqua & Blue Aqua asks what love is. Blue gives a wildly profound speech about love being a revolution written in a feathered pen. Aqua says she just loves throwing things at people.
Aqua & Orange Aqua comments on Orange's big swollen hands. Orange has to clarify they are actually wearing gloves.
Seth & Ralsei Both bond over how much Flowery annoys them by explaining things wrong. They agree they should be the real leaders.
Seth & Susie Seth tries to recruit Susie by calling her smart. Ralsei chimes in to say Berdly likes her, but Seth still wants her on the team.
Seth & Yellow Seth tells Yellow he needs a ranch to be a real cowboy. Green hands over literal ranch dressing. This escalates into a cutscene of Yellow carrying Ralsei in a horse outfit while Seth rides on top.
Seth & Green Seth tries giving Green strict cooking instructions. Green throws the pan across the room. Aqua shows up just to pull Seth's hair.
Seth & Blue Seth accuses Blue of sugarcoating reality. Blue fires back, calling Seth over-analytical and cringe. Aqua happily admits she likes that Seth is cringe because it makes her want to throw rocks at them.
Seth & Orange Seth shows off a drawing of Orange's ideal human body type featuring massive eyes and triangle ears. Orange complains it looks nothing like him.
Yellow & Ralsei Ralsei asks for smoked oregano. Yellow scolds him, claiming smoking herbs is illegal "cannonballism" because herbs are their friends. Except for parsley.
Yellow & Green Yellow claims he understands Green's silent food communication. He points to alphabet soup spelling "ooooooo" as proof.
Yellow & Blue Blue speaks in deep poetry about eras of bliss. Yellow admits he has no idea what that means but vows to protect him anyway.
Yellow & Orange Yellow gives Orange a cowboy hat to help him feel more human. Orange is thrilled.
Green Green just waves side to side. Everyone claps. Sometimes less is more.
Green & Orange Orange vents about the others being too sappy or chaotic. He appreciates Green always having his back, mostly because Orange loves eating and Green is a chef.
Blue & Susie Susie awkwardly confesses that she constantly thinks about the sound of Noelle's heartbeat. Blue reassures her that the shape of love is different for everyone.
Blue & Orange (1) Blue advises Orange to float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. Orange panics because he lacks wings and a stinger. The group descends into a screaming match about how many eyes people should have.
Blue & Orange (2) Blue admits to stealing Orange's spare gloves to craft a gift. Orange begs him to change the gift back into gloves.
Blue & Orange (3) Blue says true champions defeat their mind's shadow. Orange assumes this means he has to physically beat up his own brain. Aqua and Yellow drop by to suggest using guns and knives instead.
Blue & Green A total fever dream. Green demands 2 dollars for cheese. Green builds a bank out of cheese, Yellow crawls inside with cheese dollars, and Green seals the bank back into a solid block. Yellow gets permanently trapped inside with two bucks.
Orange & Susie Susie tries to comfort Orange for being different. Orange gets offended, and Susie awkwardly recovers by saying he can't do a bad job at being himself.
Orange & Ralsei Ralsei apologizes for calling Orange a mouse. Orange projects hard and starts relentlessly insulting Ralsei, calling him a big ugly rat.
Pink & Orange Pink introduces herself. The group warmly welcomes her despite her tail and tutu, overwhelming her with emotion.
Pink & Kris Pink asks Kris out on a date. Susie ruins it by saying Kris flirts with everyone. You get a dialogue choice here. If you say you flirted just to win the battle, Pink calls you kitty litter and resets the game screen. If you say you were completely serious, she summons a bomb and explodes.

As you can see, Toby Fox really let the writing team off the leash for these interactions. My personal favorite is definitely Green entombing Yellow inside a block of solid cheese over a two-dollar debt. Save your currency and check these out before you roll the credits.
