A Dispatcher's Guide to Not Getting Your Heroes Killed
Managing this roster of C-listers is like herding cats. Cats that can explode. Here's the intel you need.
So, you're the new dispatcher. Your job is to manage a roster of eight "heroes" and send them out to save the day, or at least not make things worse. This isn't a simple numbers game, though. Every one of these unique personalities is wildly different.
They all have five core stats: Combat, Intellect, Charisma, Mobility, and Vigor. But beyond that, they all have unique powers and, more importantly, weird little "Dispatch Conditions" that can make or break a mission.
You'll also level them up as they (hopefully) succeed, letting you dump points into their skills to round them out or just make them ridiculously good at one thing.
The Hero Roster
Here's the base-level briefing on the eight weirdos you'll be managing. Pay attention, or you'll be cleaning up the mess.
Sonar
First up is Sonar. He's your starting brainiac, with a base Intellect of 4 and a surprising 3 in Charisma. His Combat (2), Mobility (2), and Vigor (1) are pretty shit, so don't send him into a brawl.
Here's his gimmick: after every situation, he transforms into a giant monster-bat. In this form, his stats flip. His 4 Intellect becomes 4 Combat, and his 3 Charisma becomes 3 Vigor. His Intellect drops to 2 and Charisma to 1. You have to manage this transformation, which is a neat little headache.
Flambae
Flambae is your classic hothead, all fire and no brains. He's got a 4 in Combat and 3 in Mobility, but his Intellect is a rock-bottom 1. His Charisma (2) and Vigor (2) are just... there.
His unique power is a high-risk, high-reward stack. After a successful mission, Flambae gets a stacking +1 to both Combat and Mobility. This keeps building until he finally fails a mission, which resets the whole thing. Keep him winning, and he becomes a monster.
Invisigal
Invisigal is the loner of the group. She's not a team player, but her stats are decent: 3 Combat, 2 Intellect, 3 Mobility, and 3 Vigor. Her Charisma is a 1, so she's not talking her way out of anything.
Her whole deal is that she works best alone. If you send her to a situation by herself, she gets a faster travel time. She can also sniff out details on certain calls before they happen, which is situationally useful.
Coupé
Coupé is a former assassin, and her stats show it. She's a glass cannon, pure and simple. 4 in Combat, 3 in Intellect, and 3 in Mobility.
But her Charisma and Vigor are both 1. She can't take a hit and can't charm anyone.
Her condition is all about positioning. On calls with more than two slots, she gets +1 Combat if you put her in the first slot, or +1 Mobility if you put her in the second.
Punch Up
This guy is the team's brick wall. Punch Up is all about taking and dealing damage. He's got 3 Combat and a massive 4 in Vigor.
His Intellect (1) and Mobility (1) are trash, but he can surprisingly hold a conversation with 3 Charisma.
His main perk is that he's a tank. He doesn't get any debuffs from injuries and, critically, he cannot be downed. If you need someone to just soak up punishment, he's your man.
Malevola
Malevola is probably the most balanced hero on the roster, which makes her a great utility pick. She's rocking 3 Combat, 2 Intellect, 3 Charisma, 2 Mobility, and 2 Vigor.
You can build her however you want when leveling her up.
Her power is a team-up buff. When she's paired with another hero, she can heal them. After she does, she gets a stacking +1 to both Charisma and Vigor.
Golem
Golem is another big, dumb tank. Like Punch Up, he's great at fighting (3 Combat) and taking a beating (4 Vigor).
He's also got 3 Charisma, which seems weird for a guy who "is not the talkative type," but whatever. His Intellect and Mobility are both 1.
His condition is slot-based, like Coupé's, but more complex. On calls with multiple slots, putting Golem in certain slots will grant +2 to one stat while giving a -1 penalty to others.
Prism
Finally, there's Prism. She's the "Pop Star" and is your go-to for anything requiring a silver tongue, with a 4 in Charisma.
She's also a surprisingly nasty fighter, with a 4 in Combat.
She's a otal specialist. Her Intellect is 2, but her Mobility and Vigor are both 1. She's a powerhouse in her specific fields (talking and punching) and a complete liability everywhere else.
