Fortnite Treasure Hunters scatters over 110 Treasure Chest spawns across the island, and every chest has a tiny chance of paying out a rare cosmetic or a Pirate Token that makes the whole Item Shop free for 14 days.
Treasure Hunters (CH7MS1, for the abbreviation fans) has a lot of chests, and the plain wooden ones and the blue Rare ones can all roll a rare cosmetic. The long-shot jackpot is the Pirate Token, listed in the game as Pirate Shop Access, and the odds on it are long enough that volume becomes the whole plan. I’d treat the cosmetics as the realistic prize and the token as a nice thing that might happen to you someday, which keeps the job simple: land somewhere chest-heavy and keep moving.
Where the chests are
Each pin on the map marks a good handful of chests that can spawn in that area, so a pin is a stop rather than a single container.
With a full lobby of 80 on the island, opening 100-plus chests in one match isn’t realistic, and I wouldn’t even try. A tidy route clears 30 without much fuss and can stretch to 50, and that range is the target. Chests work in both Battle Royale and Zero Build.
A route that clears the most chests
Lantern Landing
Start here. Lantern Landing has over 46 Treasure Chest spawns, which makes it the best place to leave the Battle Bus, and it also holds 4 Rare chests, so you’ll be opening blue ones before you’ve left town.
Arlong Park
Head west. Arlong Park sits close by with 39 Treasure Chest spawns and 2 buried chests. It has no Rare chests, so this stop is all about quantity, and I’m fine with that.
Loguetown
Swing southeast to Loguetown for another solid batch, including 4 Rare chests. The road between Loguetown and Windmill Village hides 2 buried chests as well, which makes a fair detour if you’re passing that way.
Cursed Cavern
Finish at Cursed Cavern for some decent buried treasure. It has 4 buried chests and no Rare ones.
Buried and Rare chests
Buried chests are spread thin across the map, and most named areas have 4 or fewer. The two big exceptions are the top right island with 11 and The Chest with 34, which is the largest pile of buried chests anywhere. The Chest only has 10 regular chests, which makes it a strange place to land unless buried treasure is the entire plan, and the route above won’t pass through it.
For Rare chests, Rubber Resort has the most at 6, followed by Fortune’s Fort at 5. Loot Lagoon, Lantern Landing, Loguetown, Busy Bay, the S.S. Rocky and the purple area between Lantern Landing and Cursed Cavern all hold 4, and Windmill Village has 1. Arlong Park, Cursed Cavern, Plunder Port and The Chest have none. That’s why the Lantern Landing and Loguetown stops on the route are where blue chests turn up, and if blue chests are the entire goal, I’d land at Rubber Resort instead.
What the chests can drop
Besides normal loot from the pool, chests can give out free cosmetics, and the pool gets new additions every week. The full rundown of chest loot and rewards covers how it all works, and these are the Week 1 rewards, which are already live:
Solid Gold A$AP Rocky (Outfit)
Solid Gold A$AP Rocky’s Gauntlets (Pickaxe)
Plunder in Paradise (Loading Screen)
Mercedes-AMG G 63 ‘G-Wagon’ (SUV)
Golden Llama Crew (Mercedes Decal)
Pirate Shop Access 2026 and Pirate Shop Access 2027 (each a free 14-day Item Shop token)
Extraction Accelerator, Portable Extractor, Golden Firework, Sprite Locator and Lucky Locator (Extraction Gizmos)
Week 2 arrives on November 5, 2026 and brings a new set:
Solid Gold Lil’ Uzi Vert (Outfit)
Lil’ Uzi Crew (Back Bling)
So Kawaii (Loading Screen)
Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (Sedan)
London by Lil’ Uzi Vert (Jam Track)
The same two Pirate Shop Access tokens and the same five Extraction Gizmos
Spawn rates for most of these haven’t been confirmed. The Pirate Shop Access token is the exception, with a 1 in 700,000 spawn chance. Even 200 chests can come up empty, so I’d go in for the cosmetics and gizmos and count a token as a bonus.
Ways to stretch your odds
Treasure Hunt Chests recharge over time, so one you’ve already emptied can be looted again if you return to that area later. That makes a second lap through a chest-heavy spot worth considering once the first pass is done.
The Fortune Chester Sprite is worth equipping for the same reason. It has a chance to spawn extra loot from Treasure Chests and it reveals chests nearby, which helps a route stay efficient.
Squads add another angle. If one person in your squad finds a secret reward, everyone in the squad gets the same one, so a squad opening chests in different directions covers far more ground than one person working alone.
Rewards from bot lobbies can’t be confirmed yet, so there’s no guarantee a chest in one of those pays out.
