Palworld Water Pals Tier List: The Best Base Workers

Managing a base without the right water workers turns your resource farming into a complete nightmare.

I've spent way too much time watching low-level helpers splash around while my fields dry up. With the massive 1.0 update completely shaking up base management, you can't afford to run an inefficient camp. I've broken down every single Water-type Pal and hybrid based on their watering level and multi-skill utility so you know exactly who's worth your time and sanity.

S Tier: Best-In-Class Waterers and Multi-Taskers

These are the absolute powerhouses that I rely on to keep everything moving. They bring elite watering speeds or incredible side-hustles to your base operations.

Pal Name Type & Work Suitability Stats
Shaolong Water/Dragon. Watering Level 8, Gathering Level 5.
Neptilius Water. Watering Level 7.
Jormuntide Water/Dragon. Watering Level 7.
Faleris Aqua Water. Transporting Level 5, Watering Level 6.
Ghangler Ignis Fire/Water. Kindling Level 5, Transporting Level 2, Watering Level 5.
Suzaku Aqua Water. Watering Level 6.

Before you waste hours tracking down sub-par workers, look at Shaolong. It hits Watering Level 8 and packs Gathering Level 5, which means it doesn't leave your base hanging when crops are ready for harvest. Neptilius and Jormuntide crush tasks with Level 7 watering, while Faleris Aqua adds elite Level 5 transporting to its Level 6 watering kit. Ghangler Ignis is a wild Fire and Water hybrid that handles Kindling Level 5 alongside its Level 5 watering, and Suzaku Aqua stands tall with a clean Level 6 watering skill.

A Tier: Excellent Choices with Heavy Secondary Utility

You'll get massive value out of these options if you need your workforce to juggle multiple responsibilities. They don't have the insane peak watering levels of the top tier, but they're incredibly reliable.

Pal Name Type & Work Suitability Stats
Ghangler Water/Dark. Transporting Level 2, Watering Level 5.
Ophydia Water/Grass. Planting Level 7, Watering Level 5.
Broncherry Aqua Water/Grass. Watering Level 5.
Solmora Lux Water/Electric. Watering Level 4, Electricity Level 6.
Penking Lux Water/Electric. Handiwork Level 2, Transporting Level 3, Watering Level 2, Electricity Level 3, Mining Level 3.
Penking Water/Ice. Handiwork Level 2, Transporting Level 3, Watering Level 2, Mining Level 3, Cooling Level 2.
Relaxaurus Water/Dragon. Transporting Level 3, Watering Level 3.
Elphidran Aqua Water/Dragon. Lumbering Level 3, Watering Level 4.
Azurobe Water/Dragon. Watering Level 4.
Skutlass Water. Lumbering Level 4, Watering Level 4.
Solmora Water. Watering Level 4.

I love using Ophydia when my farm plots need extra care because its absurd Planting Level 7 matches perfectly with its Watering Level 5. Ghangler brings a solid mix of Level 5 watering and Level 2 transporting, while Broncherry Aqua holds its own with a clean Level 5 watering stat. If you need power generation, Solmora Lux pairs Level 4 watering with a staggering Electricity Level 6. Penking Lux and the classic standard Penking act as true utility workers, filling out slots with handiwork, transporting, mining, electricity, and cooling skills. Meanwhile, Elphidran Aqua, Skutlass, Azurobe, and Solmora keep your watering tasks steady at Level 4, with some adding lumbering to their daily chore lists. Relaxaurus handles Level 3 transporting and watering duties without breaking a sweat.

B Tier: Solid Mid-Game Factory Workers

These options won't blow you away with extreme speeds, but they'll keep your base running smoothly while you work your way up the tech tree.

Pal Name Type & Work Suitability Stats
Polapup Water/Ice. Watering Level 3, Cooling Level 4.
Surfent Water. Watering Level 3, Farms Leather.
Dumud Gild Water/Ground. Watering Level 2, Mining Level 2, Farming Level 4.
Munchill Water/Ice. Transporting Level 1, Watering Level 2, Cooling Level 3.
Turtacle Terra Water/Ground. Watering Level 2, Mining Level 3.
Gloopie / Gloopie Primo Water/Dark, Water/Neutral. Handiwork Level 2, Transporting Level 2, Watering Level 2.
Skutlass Ignis Fire/Water. Kindling Level 3, Lumbering Level 3, Watering Level 2.
Killamari Primo Water/Neutral. Transporting Level 2, Watering Level 1.

Don't ignore these mid-game options if you're still building up your infrastructure. Polapup offers solid Level 3 watering and Level 4 cooling, while Surfent brings a flat Level 3 watering stat and passively farms leather for your crafting needs. Dumud Gild turns into a fantastic asset thanks to its Level 4 farming skill alongside Level 2 watering and mining. Munchill gives you a steady mix of cooling, watering, and transporting, while Turtacle Terra digs into Level 3 mining. Gloopie and Gloopie Primo work well as baseline helpers with balanced stats, Skutlass Ignis throws some kindling and lumbering into the equation, and Killamari Primo can move items around with Level 2 transporting.

C Tier: Early Game Fillers

You'll quickly outgrow these entry-level options once your camp starts scaling up, but they're acceptable stopgaps when you're just starting out.

Pal Name Group Base Utility Assessment
Fuack Ignis, Jellroy, Gobfin, Finsider Ignis Early game fillers with basic watering and minimal secondary skills.
Amione, Turtacle, Jelliette, Celaray Lux Low-tier workers suited strictly for initial farming setups.
Pengullet Lux, Pengullet, Croajiro Noct, Croajiro Standard early-map spawns that lack the scaling needed for high-output bases.
Celaray, Finsider Basic water workers that should be replaced as soon as mid-game options open up.

I wouldn't recommend leaving these guys in charge of a complex base once you've unlocked better options. They'll do the job when you don't have anything better, but they don't bring the high-level stats needed for serious automated setups. Use them to get your initial berry patches running, then swap them out immediately.

D Tier: Limited Workers to Avoid

These are the bottom of the barrel options that offer almost no value to a serious camp layout.

Pal Name Work Suitability Limitations
Fuack Very limited utility with a single low-level skill.
Teafant Single low-level skill that stalls out base progression almost instantly.
Kelpsea Severely limited work output that fails to meet baseline automation needs.

If you've got them running your watering line, make it an immediate priority to hunt down an upgrade. Fuack, Teafant, and Kelpsea can't keep up with a growing camp, and keeping them deployed is just wasting a slot that could go to a multi-skilled heavy hitter.
