PlayStation Plus Games for August Include Dying Light 2, Big Walk and Signalis
Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition headlines August's PlayStation Plus Monthly Games lineup, joined by Big Walk and Signalis.
Three Games, All Live August 4
All three titles become available to PlayStation Plus members starting Tuesday, August 4, and stick around through Monday, August 31.
Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition (PS5, PS4)
Aiden Caldwell's trek through a virus-ravaged, parkour-friendly city gets the free treatment this month, memories, faction politics, and all. Up to four-player co-op is on the table too, so hosting or dropping into someone else's playthrough to see how their choices diverged from yours is part of the package.
Worth pointing out: Dying Light: The Beast came out almost a year ago at this point, so putting the Reloaded Edition of Dying Light 2 in front of every PS Plus subscriber right now isn't exactly a coincidence. It's the classic playbook, use a free copy of the earlier entry to keep the franchise's name in circulation while the newer game's still fresh in people's minds. Doesn't make it a bad grab though. Reloaded Edition rolls in the base game's post-launch content, and getting a full open-world survival game with a legitimately impressive amount of stuff crammed into it for free is still a genuinely strong pull, regardless of the marketing math behind it.
Big Walk (PS5)
The one nobody's talking about yet is probably the one worth paying the most attention to. Big Walk comes from House House, the Australian studio best known for Untitled Goose Game, and it's launching across PC, Nintendo Switch 2, and PS5. The PS5 version is the one that matters here, since it's coming to PlayStation Plus completely free rather than as a paid release.
The game itself is built entirely around cooperative exploration and communication, wandering an open world with friends, solving puzzles together, and improvising new ways to talk to each other when the game takes your usual tools away. There's no combat angle to hide behind. It's just teamwork and messing around with your friends, right down to the option to sit and watch a sunset together, or fling your buddy's binoculars into the ocean out of spite.
Signalis (PS4)
Signalis puts you in control of Elster, a Replika technician chasing down a lost partner through a retrotech world dripping in cosmic dread. It's psychological horror leaning hard on atmosphere over jump scares, and its cult following has only grown since launch. If you've had it on a wishlist, this is the moment to stop waiting.
Marvel Tōkon Cosmetic Pack Also Coming August 6
Separately, PlayStation Plus members get access to a free MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls cosmetic pack starting August 6. It includes five avatars based on Captain America, Storm, Spider-Man, Doctor Doom, and Ghost Rider, along with a set of result screen character poses covering 20 characters, including Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, and Peni Parker. The pack needs to be redeemed and downloaded through the PlayStation Store to unlock, and the poses only work once both the pack and the full game are installed on PS5.
