Battlefield 6 Is Free Right Now, So You Can Finally Decide If It's Worth €70

It’s live. Finally. If you’ve been sitting on the fence because €70 feels like a robbery for a digital download, your excuse just evaporated.

EA has decided to pull the classic "drug dealer" tactic: the first hit is free. From right now until December 2, the multiplayer floodgates are open.

I know a lot of you loved the beta but got cold feet at the price tag. I don’t blame you. But this isn't a restricted demo. This is the full multiplayer suite (minus the campaign), and it is the perfect time to see if the game actually holds up after the honeymoon phase wears off.

The Schedule (European Time)

The trial kicked off today, November 25 at 13:00 CET.

You have exactly one week of unlimited playtime. The servers will slam shut on December 2 at 13:00 CET. That gives you a full weekend to grind, unlock weapons, and figure out if the map flow is actually good or if we were just desperate during the beta.

This Is The "Real" Battlefield, Not Just Redsec

I know you mentioned trying Redsec. That’s the free-to-play extraction/BR mode. It’s fun, but let’s be honest: that isn't Battlefield. That’s EA chasing trends.

This trial unlocks the real meat and potatoes. We are talking about Conquest and Breakthrough on the massive maps. You get access to the new "California Resistance" content, including the Eastwood and Blackwell Fields maps.

If your last love was Battlefield 3, this is what you are looking for. You want the 64-player chaos, the jets screaming overhead, and the building collapsing on your squad. Redsec is tactical creeping; this trial is about total, glorious war.

Your Progress Isn't Wasted

Here is the best part. If you spend this week unlocking the good assault rifles and leveling up your classes, you don't lose that effort.

All progress carries over if you decide to drop the €70 next week. You aren't just testing the game; you are getting a head start.

To get in, you usually just need to download the free Battlefield: RedSec client on your platform of choice (Steam, PS5, Xbox), and the main multiplayer menu option should now be unlocked.

So, go download it. It’s heavy (expect a 60-80GB hit), but it’s free. I’ll see you on the objective. I’ll be the one accidentally crashing the helicopter.
