Battlefield 6 Is Barely a Day Old and Players Are Already Committing High Treason

he game has been out for less than a day, and the community is already using its powerful creative tools to build maps from its biggest rival. You just have to respect the audacity.

The launch of Battlefield 6 has been a wild ride. After a launch day plagued by the notoriously terrible EA App, the servers have stabilized, and players are finally diving into what is shaping up to be the best entry in the series in years. And alongside the stellar main multiplayer, the game brought back the fan-favorite Portal mode, now with an even more powerful and extensive editor than what we saw in Battlefield 2042.

This new editor is a beast, giving players a massive toolbox to create their own custom maps and modes. So, what's the first thing this creative, energized community decided to build? What magnum opus did they craft to celebrate the glorious return of Battlefield?

They started building Call of Duty maps, of course.

A Shipment of Betrayal

The first shot in this hilarious act of digital treason was fired by X-user Matavatar, who didn't even wait for the game to officially launch. He got to work recreating "Shipment," the legendary, chaotic, and utterly beloved meat-grinder of a map from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare.

For the uninitiated, Shipment is a tiny, claustrophobic map made of shipping containers, where chaos reigns supreme and you die, on average, every three seconds. It's the polar opposite of a sprawling Battlefield map, and now, it exists inside Battlefield 6.

Matavatar has documented the process, showing his work-in-progress on social media, and the results are impressively accurate. But he's not stopping there. Buoyed by the overwhelmingly positive feedback, he's already planning to bring more CoD classics into the fold, with maps like Nuketown, Firing Range, and Metro on his to-do list.

How to Play This Abomination

If you want to experience this bizarre crossover for yourself, you're in luck. The map is already live and playable. To find it, just head to the "Community" tab in the Battlefield 6 main menu and search for "Shipment" or "Shipment 24/7."

You'll likely find multiple versions already, as other creators are jumping on the bandwagon and making their own tweaks. Your best bet is to use the filters and check the player ratings to find a version that's well-made and populated.

The Future is a Beautiful, Chaotic Mess

This is the true beauty of a powerful creation tool like the Portal Editor. It breaks down the walls between franchises and lets the community's weird, wonderful, and sometimes traitorous ideas run wild. While the core Battlefield 6 experience is a fantastic return to form, and you should absolutely check out our multiplayer guide and optimized settings guide to get started, the real longevity of this game might just lie in the glorious chaos of the Portal.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to see what a 64-player match on Nuketown feels like. I'm sure it will be a perfectly balanced and not-at-all infuriating experience.
