Where To Find Every New Resource In Cult of the Lamb: Woolhaven
The economy in this game used to be simple, but Woolhaven has decided to make things complicated by introducing five new currencies you need to juggle.
I spent way too much time wandering around Ewefall wondering why I couldn't find any Yewbark before I realized I was in the completely wrong dungeon. The game gives you vague hints, but it doesn't exactly hand you a GPS tracker for loot. If you are stuck trying to build a heater or upgrade your ranch, you need to know exactly where to look. I compiled the drop data so you don't have to rely on blind luck.
The Resource Cheat Sheet
Instead of reading through paragraphs of text just to find one item location, look at this table. I listed the resources by importance and where I actually found them dropping consistently.
A Note On Charged Shards
I see a lot of people complaining they can't find Charged Shards while exploring the mountain interior. That is because they don't spawn there.
These are specific to the Ewefall exterior dungeon. You get them by destroying the generators you see on the map. However, the real game changer is the Lightning Rod. Once you unlock this building, build as many as you can afford. Whenever a blizzard hits, they passively collect shards. It turns a rare resource into something you have too much of.
The Scam That Is Rotgrit
You might unlock something called Rotgrit once you get a Level 3 Furnace.
I'm going to save you some time: Ignore it.
It is produced by the furnace as a byproduct, and its only use is to be refined back into Rotburn. It sounds useful on paper, but by the time you have a Level 3 Furnace, you should have enough Rotburn Mines that you don't need to recycle your own waste. It is a filler item. Don't obsess over collecting it.
Farming Wool Without The Ranch
If you are too stubborn to build a ranch, you can get Wool in dungeons, but it is miserable.
You have to look for "Frozen Ancestors", those ice blocks with guys inside them, and smash them. Or hope for a chest drop. But honestly, just build the ranch. Baraq sells animals for Wool, so it is an investment loop. Spend Wool to get animals, raise animals to get more Wool. It beats hoping for a 5% drop rate in a dungeon.
