Destiny 2 Guide: Surviving Pantheon 2.0 And Claiming Every God Roll

Bungie dragged the most punishing raid bosses out of the sunset graveyard just to watch you suffer all over again.

Pantheon 2.0 has officially arrived in Destiny 2, bringing a massive gauntlet of returning nightmares that will push your Fireteam to the breaking point. You are going up against notorious heavyweights like Argos, Emperor Calus, Gahlran, and Insurrection Prime. As if pulling those from the vault wasn't enough, Bungie also threw in revamped encounters for the Warpriest, the Consecrated Mind, and Morgeth just to guarantee your team struggles.

Before you dive blindly into these boss rushes, you need to understand that the encounters have been altered from their original versions. I highly recommend finding dedicated strategy guides for beating each specific boss before you launch the activity. Winging it against these threats will just get you sent back to the lobby screen with nothing to show for your time.

The Boss Roster And Loot Drops

You are throwing yourself at these grueling encounters for two reasons: the reworked meta weapons and a highly coveted armor set. The loot table is split across specific boss fights. I mapped out exactly who drops what so you know where to focus your farming efforts.

Beyond the weapons, every single boss in Pantheon 2.0 has a chance to drop pieces of the new Pantheon Resplendent armor set. This includes the Helm, Gauntlets, Chest Armor, Boots, and Class Item. If you want to see exactly how these pieces integrate into your builds, check out my Destiny 2 Monument of Light All Armor Set Bonuses breakdown.

You also need to understand how the weapon drops function under the hood. While the bosses have exclusive loot tied to them initially, obtaining a weapon actually adds it to your general reward pool. For instance, once you secure your first Zaouli's Bane by defeating the Warpriest, that hand cannon can suddenly drop from Morgeth or any other boss on your subsequent runs.

Building Your Pantheon God Rolls

Don't instantly dismantle your rewards just because the stats look weird at first glance. These weapons feature reprized perk pools and meta combinations that you absolutely want locked away in your vault. Keep in mind that every single weapon on this list rolls natively with the Elliptical Orbit origin trait. Here are the exact perk combinations I hunt for when clearing these encounters.

Zaouli's Bane

This Solar Hand Cannon is an absolute S-Tier weapon. It has been a personal favorite of mine ever since King's Fall originally returned to the game.

  • Barrel: Fluted Barrel

  • Magazine: Flared Magwell

  • Perk 1: Firefly or Explosive Payload

  • Perk 2: Chaos Reshaped or Incandescent

  • Masterwork: Handling

Reckless Oracle

If you need to clear a room full of enemies without reloading every three seconds, this Void Auto Rifle is an S-Tier option. The reprized perk pool gives it even more tools to become the absolute king of ad-clear.

  • Barrel: Fluted Barrel

  • Magazine: Tactical Mag

  • Perk 1: Destabilizing Rounds

  • Perk 2: Chaos Reshaped or Repulsor Brace

  • Masterwork: Stability

Threat Level

This Kinetic Shotgun is incredible thanks to its naturally high RPM output. Just keep in mind that it is slightly beaten out by Perfect Paradox, which features a superior origin trait that synergizes perfectly with your One-Two Punch melee builds.

  • Barrel: Rifled Barrel

  • Magazine: Appended Mag

  • Perk 1: One-Two Punch

  • Perk 2: Trench Barrel

  • Masterwork: Handling

Chattering Bone

This Kinetic Pulse Rifle is a reliable workhorse for your primary slot.

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake

  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds

  • Perk 1: Kill Clip

  • Perk 2: Headseeker or Kinetic Tremors

  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Bane of Sorrow

When you need massive Void damage to wipe out an entire wave of adds, this Heavy Machine Gun delivers.

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake

  • Magazine: Extended Mag

  • Perk 1: Destabilizing Rounds

  • Perk 2: Killing Tally or Mega Kill Clip

  • Masterwork: Reload Speed

Alone as a God

This Kinetic Sniper Rifle actually drops from both Argos and Emperor Calus, making it slightly easier to farm if you stick to the Calus Resplendent gauntlet.

  • Barrel: Arrowhead Brake

  • Magazine: Accurized Rounds

  • Perk 1: Rewind Rounds

  • Perk 2: Kinetic Tremors or Bait and Switch

  • Masterwork: Reload Speed
