Diablo 4 Season 14 Walkthrough Guide: How to Destroy the Ullo Sar Cult
Tracking down a sinister death cult is standard business in Sanctuary, but Season 14 makes you work for every inch of progress.
Season 14 introduces a fresh headache called the Ullo Sar. This is a death cult with a nasty habit of performing rituals across the map. You will be working alongside an NPC named Dannica to figure out what they want and shut them down. The questline takes you from a basic letter pickup all the way into brutal Realmwalker fights and deep dungeon clears before slamming into a hard progression wall at Torment 1 difficulty. Before you waste hours running in circles trying to find the next trigger, I have mapped out every step.
Starting Your Season 14 Journey
Before you even see a quest marker, you must be on the right realm.
Season 14 content is strictly locked to the Seasonal Realm. Your Eternal Realm characters are completely useless here. You need to create a fresh character and explicitly select the Seasonal Realm during setup.
If you have already cleared the main campaign and any DLC prologues you own, the game allows you to skip the story entirely on new characters. Anyone who owns both Vessel of Hatred and Lord of Hatred can bypass both expansion campaigns as well. This feature lets you jump straight from character creation into the seasonal content in under five minutes. If you are brand new to the game, you must complete the main campaign at least once before this skip option unlocks for future runs. I highly recommend running on Normal difficulty if you just want to speed through the narrative quests before bumping it up for the endgame grind.
The Ullo Sar Quest Chain
This is the core path you need to follow to stop the rituals and get your rewards.
Gospel of Despair
Load your fresh Seasonal Character into the world and take the waypoint directly to Kyovashad. Look around the waypoint area to find a Letter from Tyrael. Picking this up automatically triggers the Gospel of Despair quest and sets the entire chain in motion.
From Kyovashad, travel to Zarbinzet. Look slightly west of the Zarbinzet waypoint to find Dannica. Talk to her to get the rundown on the Ullo Sar. She hands over the Message of Ullo Sar and gives you the background details. Make sure you keep interacting with her until the quest stage officially completes.
Sins of Ullo Sar
Dannica sends you directly into the Helltides to hunt down the cult. You are specifically looking for Death's Head Idol encounters. You do not need to scour the map blindly for these. They spawn as standard Helltide events, so just run your usual Helltide routes and they will cross your path. You will also bump into a Realmwalker during this phase. After you deal with the encounters and gather the required items, head back to Dannica in Zarbinzet to report your findings.
Across the Threshold
This is the heaviest part of the chain. Your objective is to kill a Realmwalker, and you have two ways to do it. The first method is closing Surging Ruptures during an active Helltide event. Realmwalkers do not spawn constantly here, so you might end up waiting around for a new round to begin.
Before you waste time waiting on Helltide spawns, check the map for a Colossal Rupture near Zarbinzet. This triggers a Realmwalker world event complete with a visible map timer. This is by far the most efficient route. Once you put the Realmwalker in the dirt, a portal spawns exactly where it died. Step through it to enter the Deathtoll Chamber. Do not follow the map marker to a different zone. The correct portal is right at the kill site.
Inside the Deathtoll Chamber, your goal is pure speed. Wiping out enemies quickly expands the Ritual Circle, granting you bonus loot on top of the standard drops. Clear the room and head back to Zarbinzet to update Dannica.
Rising Tide, Setting Sun
This quest demands that you unlock Torment 1 difficulty. You must hit the maximum character level of 60 and clear Tier 10 of the Artificer's Pit. Tier 10 of the Artificer's Pit will stall your progress much harder than hitting level 60. Once both conditions are met and you swap to Torment 1, return to Dannica to finish up.
The Looming Night
This stage sits at the end of the chain. Full details are still locked behind ongoing seasonal progression, so keep your eyes peeled as things develop.
Glints of Hope Reputation Ranks
Every quest you finish and every cultist you smash earns you Glints of Hope.
This is your Season 14 reputation currency. There are 24 ranks to climb. The early levels fly by, but the grind becomes absolutely punishing later on. Ranks 1 through 15 only demand 8,490 Glints total. Pushing from Rank 16 to 24 requires roughly 56,000 more. Earning Glints strictly through the main questline will barely scratch the surface, so you need to run Helltides and other seasonal activities constantly to keep your rank moving.
