Far Far West Bell Locations Guide: Stop Searching Blindly

If you are just running from objective to objective, you are missing out on one of the best hidden upgrades on the starting map.

An in-game map overlay in Far Far West showing key locations like the Northern Bell, Central Bell, Southern Bell, and Church over a first-person view.

While you are busy fighting off hordes of robot cowboys in Far Far West, the game silently hides valuable secrets right under your nose. The musical bell puzzle in the Far West region is so notoriously frustrating that it requires a dedicated breakdown.

You cannot just shoot these bells randomly and expect a reward. You have to track down three distinct, unmarked locations, survive the local enemy spawns, and complete a memory puzzle at each one before heading to a final destination. I spent hours mapping out the exact coordinates so you can stop running in circles.

How the Bell Minigame Works

Before you start hunting for the locations, you need to understand the mechanics. You cannot just shoot the first bell you see.

When you approach one of the three designated locations, you will find a primary bell resting on the ground or a rock. You must interact with this specific bell first. Doing so triggers a sequence where purple bells spawn in the air around you. You have to memorize the exact order they appear and shoot them in that sequence. If you mess up the order, simply interact with the ground bell again to reset the puzzle. Because you have to stand relatively still to aim, make absolutely sure you wipe out any nearby enemies or monster spawners before you start the minigame.

All Three Bell Locations

The Far West map is massive, and these bells are deliberately tucked away from the main roads. Use the table below for quick reference, then read the detailed breakdowns to pinpoint their exact hiding spots.

Bell Name Map Location
Southern Bell Directly south of the Church, sitting across the water inside a semicircle of large rocks.
Central Bell Middle of the map, resting out in the open on top of a large rock just above the bottom-level grave.
Northern Bell Far northern edge of the map, sitting near the water and reed plants along the shoreline.

The Southern Bell

This is usually the first bell you will stumble across because it is so close to a major landmark. Head directly south from the Church. You will need to cross the water. Look for a distinct semicircle formation made out of large rocks. The bell is sitting right in the center of this rock formation.

The Central Bell

To find the Central Bell, head toward the middle of the map near the grave on the bottom level. You are looking for a large, elevated rock. The bell sits completely out in the open on top of it. The height of this rock actually gives you a massive tactical advantage; most standard melee enemies cannot climb up to reach you, giving you a safe vantage point to clear the area before starting the puzzle.

The Northern Bell

This is definitively the hardest bell to locate because it sits on the absolute edge of the map where you will rarely travel. From the Central Bell, head dead north until you hit the shoreline. Walk along the coast until you spot a cluster of reed plants near the water. The bell is tucked right next to them. This specific area has a nasty habit of spawning multiple enemy groups at once, so keep your guard up.

The Final Step: The Church

Once you have successfully completed the shooting puzzle at all three locations, the quest is not over. You have to claim your prize.

Head back to the Church located in the southeast quadrant of the map. Walk to the left side of the building exterior, where you will find a stack of wooden boxes. Use these boxes to platform your way up to the church roof. At the very top, you will find one final bell. Interact with it to permanently complete the quest. You do not even need to extract to secure the loot, the unlock is instantaneous.

The Reward: Bell Shot Joker

All this running around actually pays off. Completing the Church step immediately unlocks a brand new card for your loadout called the Bell Shot Joker.

This card grants your weapon a +5% chance to summon a healing ghost bell every single time you hit an enemy weakspot (with a maximum of two bells active at once). It provides a fantastic layer of passive healing, especially in the early game when resources are scarce. To actually use this upgrade, you have to visit the gunsmith back at the saloon and slot it into a weapon that has two open Joker slots. If your current guns do not support it, check out my Far Far West weapon tier list to find a high-tier primary worth upgrading.
