Far Far West Upgrades Guide: The Best Stats to Level

Far Far West throws a massive amount of mechanics at you incredibly quickly, and it is dangerously easy to ruin your build if you do not know what you are doing.

Between frantic bounty missions and the endless grind for experience points, you are constantly earning Upgrade Slots. The problem is that the game lets you dump these hard-earned slots into stats that sound somewhat useful on paper, but make absolutely zero difference when the screen is filled with a skeletal horde. Some upgrades completely change how smooth and fast your runs feel, while others are a complete waste of your time.

If you are trying to survive the harder difficulties or spam magic like an absolute menace, you need to know exactly where to spend your points. How to Find the Upgrade Station

You cannot upgrade your stats while you are out in the desert getting shot at. You have to handle your progression back at the main hub.

When you load into the lobby, head down the right side of the road. You are looking for a glowing green NPC standing near the starting mission train. This specific vendor is where you actually spend your Upgrade Slots to improve your base stats. You earn these slots naturally just by leveling up during standard gameplay, but you can also use XP Tickets to speed up the process. A single ticket instantly grants you three full levels.

You can hold a maximum of 20 Upgrade Slots in your inventory at any given time. Do not hoard these. It is always smarter to spend them immediately to boost your survivability rather than letting them sit unused in your pocket.

The Best Upgrades Ranked

There are exactly five different upgrades available to choose from. While the game presents them equally, they are definitively not equal in value. I ranked them below based on how much they actually impact your late-game survival.

Spell Cooldown Reduction	Top Priority	Lowers the time between spell uses. Magic is your strongest weapon, and spamming it keeps you alive.
Speed	Top Priority	Increases how fast your character moves. Essential for dodging attacks and completing objectives quickly.
Health	High Priority	Increases your maximum health during missions. It serves as a vital safety net for crowded encounters.
Ammo Bag	Medium Priority	Increases how much ammo you can carry. It is highly situational and mostly needed for endless farming runs.
Jump Height	Low Priority	Improves how high you can jump. A completely dead stat in combat; use mobility spells instead.

Why Cooldowns and Speed Win

Raw health is great, but avoiding damage entirely is always better. Increasing your movement speed allows you to actively dodge incoming projectiles and perfectly reposition yourself during chaotic boss fights. Combining that speed with maximum Spell Cooldown Reduction turns you into an absolute powerhouse. Ignore the Ammo and Jump Height

Do not waste early points on your Ammo Bag. Unless you are specifically doing an endless extraction farm where resources run completely dry, the map provides enough ammo to sustain you. As for Jump Height, it is purely an exploration novelty. If you desperately need vertical mobility, just equip the Thunderstrike or Boing spell instead of permanently wasting your upgrade slots on your legs.

How the Prestige System Works

If you play the game long enough, you will eventually hit level 100. When this happens, do not panic about your progression stalling out. Hitting this milestone directly unlocks the Prestige system through the exact same glowing green NPC menu.

Prestiging allows you to completely bypass the normal level cap and continue grinding. Every single time you prestige, you earn specific tokens that you can spend on additional upgrade points and entirely new Joker slots for your weapons. This makes optimizing a gun from my Far Far West weapon tier list significantly easier. You also earn a massive influx of resources, including Souls, Gold, and those highly coveted XP Tickets. Keep in mind that XP Tickets cannot be used to level up your spells.

The absolute most important thing to understand is that prestiging does not wipe your account. It does not remove the upgrade slots or the progression you already worked so hard to unlock. Because there is virtually zero downside to doing it, you should prestige the exact second the prompt becomes available to you. You can push this system all the way up to Prestige level ten, making it the definitive way to scale your character's power into the true endgame.
