Fortnite Guide: Where to Find Olivia Rodrigo and Unlock Your Free Reward

If you are trying to hunt down the latest pop superstar to hit the island, you might want to pack some driving gloves because she isn't hanging out near the main roads.

The first massive update for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 3 just rolled out, and it's turning the map into an absolute circus. Epic Games flooded the island with new variables, dropping five fresh companions into rotation. If you are currently attempting to optimize your inventory, you've probably been busy tracking down the rare drops featured in my Fortnite Gone Wild event sprites guide.

But companions aren't the only addition to the island this week. Epic Games also launched a surprise collaboration with music icon Olivia Rodrigo. While her official character cosmetics are scheduled to launch in the Item Shop on Thursday, June 25, at 8:00 PM ET, you can actually track her down as an interactive NPC right now. Dropping by her hidden location lets you walk away with a permanent cosmetic reward for your locker without spending a single V-Buck.

NPC tracking is always an absolute chore because their custom spawn nodes are tucked away in corners you'd normally fly right past during a standard match. To keep you from running around in circles while the storm closes in, I pinpointed her exact treehouse location and broke down how to clear her unique missions.

Olivia Rodrigo's Secret Map Location

You won't find this pop star wandering around a massive named point of interest or fighting inside a heavily guarded vault. Instead, she's taking a break underneath a highly specific tree that serves as a direct Easter egg for her third studio album, titled you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love.

The Southern Grid Coordinates

To locate her, look toward the southern edge of the island map. She stands directly underneath a large tree situated north of the lone gas station that sits southeast of Sinister Strip. If you need adjacent landmarks to help guide your vehicle, this hidden island spot sits squarely south of Sinister Strip, west of Shaken Sanctuary, north of Sunken Shores, and just east of Heatwave Harbor.

Spotting the Pink Swing

The area surrounding these coordinates features a thick cluster of regular trees, making it easy to drive right past her camp if you aren't paying close attention. The trick is to ignore the standard foliage and scan the branches for a specific pink swing attached to the trunk. She hangs out directly under this swing, meaning you can drop right on top of her from the battle bus if your glide path is accurate.

How to Unlock the Free Duality Loading Screen

Epic Games isn't making you jump through an absurd series of competitive hoops just to claim the seasonal promotional reward. The unlock process is beautifully simple, though it requires an active interaction.

Quest Objective Required Interaction Cosmetic Reward
Say Hi to Olivia Interact and chat with her once. The Duality of Olivia Loading Screen.
Jam Near Olivia Perform any Jam Loop for five seconds. Unlocked Progress Tracker (No reward item).

To complete the basic "Say Hi to Olivia" quest, simply walk straight up to her character model, hit your interaction button, and speak with her once. The very second you close out the dialogue wheel, the notification will pop up marking the mission as complete.

You don't need to spend any gold bars or execute any additional gameplay inputs to earn the prize. The custom loading screen, officially called "The Duality of Olivia," will automatically bind to your profile. Once your current match ends and you exit safely back to the main menu, you can open up your locker screen to equip the artwork permanently.

Available NPC Services and Jam Quests

If you have a surplus of gold sitting in your inventory, staying near her tree offers a decent utility advantage for the mid-game loop.

The Path Up Service

She operates as a traditional merchant on the map, offering the customized "Path Up" service in exchange for 500 Gold bars. Buying this option provides an immediate, massive surge to both your health pool and your active shield bars. It is an expensive choice if you're saving gold for weapon mods, but it's an excellent fallback option if a rival squad ambushed your vehicle and left you running on fumes without any healing items in your inventory.

Completing the Found Quest

After you finish your initial conversation to secure the loading screen, she'll offer you an optional Found Quest that tasks you with jamming right next to her swing. This bonus mission requires you to manually activate your performance wheel. The UI layout can be a bit clunky if you don't use it regularly, so use this exact sequence to avoid getting shot while standing completely still:

  • Open the Emote Wheel: Hit your platform's designated button preset. The PC interface defaults to the "B" key, while controller inputs default to the down arrow on your D-pad.

  • Navigate Tabs: Cycle away from your standard lockers and swap over to either the "Jam Loops" or "Locker Jam Loops" sub-menus. Both options satisfy the quest parameters.

  • Hold the Performance: Select any song from your available inventory to initiate the loop. You must maintain the musical performance continuously for at least five seconds to complete the timer.

Keep in mind that completing this secondary jam mission currently provides absolutely no additional items or physical rewards upon completion. It is an interesting easter egg to activate if you're safe from enemy lines, but don't risk getting pinned in the open just to clear it. Grab your free loading screen, purchase a health top-off if your shields are low, and use your rotation tools to head back toward the safe zones before the storm shrinks the field.
