Fortnite Guide: Where to Find Every Magical Guardian Audio Log
Tracking down hidden voice recordings is easily the most tedious chore of the new season, especially when Epic decides to completely leave the markers off your map screen.
The launch of Fortnite Runners has completely overhauled the sandbox with companion mechanics, but for anyone working through the premium Battle Pass, the real focus is customizing the new Guardian outfit. The Magical Guardian variant requires you to hunt down three distinct audio logs scattered across completely opposite ends of the island to unlock your new helmet style. The issue is that these items are incredibly tiny, meaning you will likely sprint right past them unless you know exactly what cues to look for.
Essential Visual Cues and Broken Mechanics
Sifting through identical rooms looking for a tiny plastic rectangle is a great way to get sniped, so you need to understand the user interface tricks Epic left behind.
The moment your character gets relatively close to an audio log, a white diamond icon containing an exclamation point will pop up directly on your HUD. Once you actually step inside the correct room, the log itself will start emitting bright white sparkles. If you are standing outside a structure and do not see any floating sparkle effects, that is completely normal. The game handles culling aggressively, so do not bother looking for visual confirmation until you are fully indoors.
Most importantly, locating the physical object is only half the battle. To actually register progress on your challenge log, you have to stand completely still and hold down the interaction button to listen to the entire transmission. Tapping the button and instantly sliding away to find cover will completely cancel the trigger, leaving you with zero quest progress when you return to the main lobby.
All Hidden Audio Log Locations
The three recordings are locked to permanent positions on the island, so you do not have to worry about random spawn conditions ruining your drop. The real difficulty stems from the massive geographical distance between each point.
Audio Log 1: Shaken Sanctuary
To grab the first recording, direct your glider toward the southeast end of the island and land at Shaken Sanctuary. Head over to the northeast side of the location and find the main building situated to the left of the river running through the POI. Make your way up to the second floor of this structure, which sits directly below the overhead landing pad. The audio log is sitting flat on the floor right in front of a standard classroom whiteboard.
Audio Log 2: The Unnamed Center
The second recording is easily the most annoying because it sits inside a minor Landmark with no official name printed on the map screen. To orient your drop, locate the massive cluster of floating Zero Point Shards right near the center of the island map. Look for a small hill situated just northwest of the Zero Point region and look for a small brick and metal shack sitting on a cliff side. Step through the front entrance, and you will find the audio log resting on the floor right by the doorway.
Audio Log 3: Lifty Lodge
The final recording requires you to travel deep into the snowy mountain biome up in the northwest corner of the map. Land at Lifty Lodge and head straight for the main ski lift terminal building at the top of the lift area. Once you step inside the main floor of the structure, check the southern side of the room. The audio log is hidden on the ground right next to the wooden benches.
