Fortnite Summer Event Guide: Every Exotic Weapon and Unvaulted Item

If you logged in expecting a free cosmetic questline, you are going to be incredibly disappointed by your empty objective tab.

The Summer Event for Chapter 7 Season 3 officially kicked off on Thursday, June 25 at 4 AM ET. If you dropped onto the island looking for a list of easy quests to earn some free seasonal cosmetics, you are entirely out of luck right now. Epic Games completely skipped the free reward track to start the season, opting instead to flood the active loot pool with chaotic new variables.

The developers are relying on raw sandbox chaos to keep you busy. Alongside dropping new aggressive companions into the wild like the Striker Sprite and the Grim Reaper Sprite, the island just welcomed a massive wave of high-tier hardware. I organized all the new drop tables and spawn conditions so you know exactly which containers to target during your next rotation.

The Summer Exotic Weapon Roster

You will be hunting for three specific Exotic Items that completely alter your combat mobility and area denial tactics.

Unlike previous seasons where you could just buy your favorite hardware directly from a friendly NPC, these summer drops are tied entirely to random number generators. To actually build out your Exotic loadout, you have to tear open standard Chests, crack Rare Chests, or cast your line into Golden Fishing Spots. You cannot target a specific boss to secure these drops, meaning you need to loot aggressively early in the match to stack the odds in your favor.

The Lawless Stink Rifle is an absolute nightmare for opponents trying to heal inside a defensive box, while the Hop Rock Dualies allow you to bounce over enemy structures without relying on consumable mobility items.

Standard Unvaulted Summer Loot

If your luck with the Exotic drop rates is terrible, you can still stumble across a powerful roster of standard returning items.

This unvaulted pool includes the infamous Mythic Goldfish, a projectile that instantly eliminates anyone unfortunate enough to catch it with their face. You can fish that specific tool out of standard and Golden Fishing Spots. The rest of the returning utility gear is much easier to find, spawning directly on the floor and inside all chest rarities across the map.

The July 9 Deadline

Before you get too comfortable relying on the low-gravity dual pistols or the area-denial stinks, you need to remember the schedule. You have until July 9 to abuse these items. After that specific date, the Summer Event officially wraps up, and all of these Exotics and utility tools return to the vault.
