The Complete Hytale Resource Guide: Where To Find Every Ore, Hide, And Scrap
If you are running around the map blindly hoping to trip over some Adamantite, you are playing this game wrong.
Hytale’s world generation isn't random chaos. It follows strict rules. Certain ores only spawn at specific depths, specific leathers only drop from specific predators, and if you are looking for Shadoweave Scraps in the wrong biome, you will literally never find them. I got tired of guessing, so I compiled every single spawn location and drop source into one place. Here is exactly where you need to go to get the gear you want.
Part 1: Ores & Ingots
Mining is simple until you hit the mid-game. Copper and Iron are everywhere. However, once you need Thorium or Adamantite, the game stops holding your hand. Here is the depth chart I worked out.
Part 2: Hides & Leather
You need leather for backpacks. That means you need to go hunting. The drop rules here are strict because specific animals drop specific hide tiers.
Part 3: Scraps (Undead Drops)
Scraps are used for workbench upgrades and specific gear sets. You get these by killing the Undead.
Linen Scraps: Dropped by skeletons/undead in Emerald Grove and Howling Sands.
Pro Tip: Farm the "Mage Tower" in the Windrider Valley event for massive drops.
Shadoweave Scraps: This is the hard one. Only dropped by Outlanders in the Whisperfrost Frontiers. Look for the fortresses. Be careful because Outlanders hit hard.
Cindercloth Scraps: Dropped by Burnt/Incandescent Skeletons in the Devastated Lands. They are everywhere on the surface so you can't miss them.
Stormsilk Scraps: Currently unobtainable in survival.
Part 4: Essences & Misc Resources
The rare stuff. You need these for high-level magic and final workbench upgrades.
Final Thoughts
This list should save you a few hours of pointless wandering. The key takeaway here is to target specific biomes for specific tiers of loot. Don't go to Whisperfrost expecting Medium Hides and don't dig in the desert expecting Adamantite. Use the data, get your gear, and stop wasting your time on bad RNG. Now go craft something useful, I have an appointment with a few grizzly bears to get some more Heavy Hide…
