Palworld Guide: How to Solve Every Hack Terminal Puzzle

The 1.0 update scattered locked monoliths across the map that require a bit of brainpower or raw firepower to crack.

A glowing teal Pal floats toward a circular portal in a dark digital forest with neon grid patterns in Palworld 1.0.

Hack Terminals lock progression items behind a Core Panel, forcing you to solve a quick security challenge before handing over the goods. Searching for these structures during the day wastes time. Wait until the sun goes down, as the terminals emit a bright blue hue that makes them easy to spot across long distances in the dark.

Cracking the Security

You will run into five distinct puzzle variants. Some test your logic, while others just demand raw damage output.

The Panel Puzzle

You have to route power from a source node directly to the core panel. The catch is you must connect the path so it fills out every single gray square on the grid. Each attempt generates a unique layout, so memorizing patterns won't help you. You have to actually trace the logic on the fly, which prevents you from mindlessly rushing through the interaction.

Vulnerable Spot Lockpicking

Press the edges of the circle on your screen. If the circle stays blue, you found the correct starting spot. If it flashes red, you need a different angle. A percentage counter in the center of the screen acts as a hot-or-cold meter. This tells you exactly how close you are to the weak point, letting you systematically dial in the correct position without relying on random guessing.

The Spinning Wheel

This interface functions exactly like a standard fishing minigame. Hit the button the exact moment your cursor passes through the green section of the spinning wheel. If you miss, you can reset the puzzle infinitely. The lack of a fail state means you can afford to learn the timing without stress.

Seal Break

A physical barrier blocks the terminal entirely. To drop the shield, you must find three Sealing Stones scattered around the area. They either sit perfectly lined up in front of the console or hide in the surrounding brush. Smash them with weapons or active Pal skills. Using explosive attacks clears the foliage and breaks the stones at the same time, saving you from a tedious visual search.

The Pal Battle

Approaching the terminal triggers an ambush. A random Pal spawns on top of you, accompanied by a strict 60-second timer on the screen. You have exactly one minute to eliminate the threat and unlock the core. This tight DPS check means you should always equip your strongest weapons and summon a heavy hitter before interacting with an unverified terminal.

The Loot

Bypassing the security and interacting with the Core Panel spits out premium items that alter your loadout and squad composition.

  • Schematics: Craft technology and accessories of a higher rarity than standard blueprints. Upgrading your gear baseline dictates how easily you survive late-game encounters.

  • Handbooks: Consumable items used to directly increase a Pal's affinity level. This lets you skip the tedious grind of natural affinity leveling.

  • Dog Coins: A special currency you spend at merchants to buy Mysterious Accessory Boxes. These boxes permanently expand your accessory slots, directly increasing the amount of utility gear you can carry into a fight.
