Game Freak's Entire Five-Year Plan Just Leaked, and It's Even Weirder Than We Thought

It seems Game Freak’s servers are about as secure as a screen door on a submarine.

A torrent of new Pokémon information has just hit the internet, and it’s not just a few blurry screenshots. We’re talking what looks like the entire goddamn roadmap for the next five years.

The sheer volume and granularity of this leak, from boring Excel sheets to unpolished gameplay footage, has the stench of legitimacy. Leaker accounts like CentroLeaks have been disseminating the info, which all supposedly stems from the "teraleak," a major data breach Game Freak suffered back in 2024.

That was the same breach that gave us an early look at Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Now, it seems the rest of the goods are being passed around online like a hot potato.

Welcome to Generation 10: Wind & Waves

So, what’s the main event? Forget those old rumors about a Greece-inspired region. According to these documents, the big Gen 10 titles are Pokémon Wind and Pokémon Waves, supposedly aiming for a 2026 release.

The concept sounds ambitious as hell. We’re talking a region based on Southeast Asia with procedurally generated islands, underwater exploration, and a heavier focus on survival elements.

The best part? The big bad guys this time around are apparently land developers. Yes, after all these years, we’ll finally be fighting against the ultimate evil: gentrification.

Can They Even Pull This Off?

Here’s the billion-dollar question: can Game Freak actually deliver on this? This is the same studio that gave us Scarlet & Violet, a game that ran so poorly it made my Switch sound like it was trying to achieve liftoff. The idea of them tackling procedural generation sounds like a recipe for a beautiful, unplayable disaster.

The leaks, like this one, even show beta footage of Legends: Z-A with parkour and third-person shooting mechanics that were clearly scrapped. It’s a stark reminder that what looks good in a design document rarely survives the brutal reality of game development.

Still, with the series moving exclusively off the original Switch, maybe they'll finally have the horsepower to make their ambitions a reality. Maybe.

A Budget Built for Billions

This all ties back to the shockingly low budgets we heard about recently. With Gen 10 reportedly being made for a measly $20 million, it’s hard to see how they can pull off a technically demanding game without cutting some serious corners.

It’s a shoestring budget for a franchise that prints money, and it explains a lot about the quality of recent entries. It's a bold strategy from a company that recently patented the idea of summoning monsters to fight other monsters, I'll give them that.

While we should always take leaks with a grain of salt, the evidence here is piling up. The details are too specific and too weird to be entirely fake. For now, we're left with a tantalizing, and slightly terrifying, glimpse into the future of Pokémon.
