Poppy Playtime Chapter 5 Guide: Every Code, Password, and Puzzle Solution
Playtime Co clearly spent their entire budget on overly complicated security keypads instead of basic employee safety protocols.
Surviving Chapter 5 requires more than just running away from giant, murderous mascots. The Laboratories sector is heavily gated behind digital keypads, valve puzzles, and locked doors that demand specific passcodes. To make matters infinitely worse, half of these clues are written in invisible ink, forcing you to slowly scan the walls with a UV Blacklight while actively being hunted.
I spent hours getting chased through these bloodstained corridors just to write down every single number, symbol, and sequence. To save you the miserable experience of dying because you forgot a locker combination, I compiled a master list of every mandatory code and optional puzzle solution in the chapter.
Early Game Tool Codes
You cannot progress through the initial sections of the Laboratories without upgrading your Grabpack. These first two codes are mandatory for grabbing your new hardware.
Pressure Hand Locker Code: 0859
Located in the Main Office and Boilers area. You will find a locked cabinet holding the Pressure Hand upgrade. Walk over to the nearby whiteboard and flip it around. Switch on your Glowby UV light and shine it on the back of the board. The code 0859 is written in invisible ink and circled. Punch that into the locker and claim your new hand.
Master Backup Files: 560
Located in the Engineering Workshop. This puzzle forces you to actually use your brain. Shine your UV light on the whiteboard to reveal a partial clue. Look through the nearby window at the shelving unit marked "SP". Use your Blacklight again to find the container stamped with the matching clue numbers. Walk out to the metal walkway to grab the final digit off that specific container. For most players, this translates to the code 560. If that fails, you have to follow the UV light steps manually to find your randomized variant.
Environmental Puzzles and Doors
The mid-game completely abandons simple number pads and forces you to manipulate valves and translate weird symbols.
Red Smoke Valve Puzzle
Located in the Pirate Ship memory area. The room is flooded with toxic red smoke that blocks your progress. To clear the air, you have to turn a series of valves in a very specific order. The correct sequence is Triangle, then Star, then Circle, and finally Hexagon. Once the valves are set, sprint to the control room, flip the lever, and head back to the cleared room to ignite the chemistry pot with your Conductive Hand.
The Memories Machine: Randomized
Do not bother looking up a code for the massive Memories Machine door. The developers made this one entirely unique for every single playthrough. You have to physically complete all three Huggy Wuggy memory sequences. Each time you finish a memory, the machine spits out two digits of your personalized six digit code.
The Emotion Keypad Door
Located in the Conditioning Area. This is an optional door that hides a secret VHS tape. The keypad displays cartoon faces instead of numbers. The solution is broadcasted during Huggy Wuggy's final memory breakout sequence. The input order is Happy, Happy, Disgust, Sad, Fear, and Happy again.
Late Game Codes and Collectibles
The final stretch of the chapter throws codes at you while you are actively being hunted. Memorize these so you do not have to stop and read scattered notes while a monster is breathing down your neck.
BLANKY Blankz Collectible Locker: 1936
Located in Huggy Wuggy's projector arena. While you are desperately trying to distract Huggy with the Kissy Missy projectors, you will notice a locker sitting out in the open. The four digits to open it are written on sheets of paper scattered inside the various safe rooms along the perimeter. Save yourself the stress of hunting for scraps of paper while being chased and just punch in 1936. I highly recommend doing this immediately upon entering the arena before Huggy ramps up his aggression.
Lily's Piano Puzzle
Located on the upper floor of Lily Lovebraids' mansion. You have to use the Pressure Hand to free a party guest from a statue in the music room. Once freed, you need to play a specific tune on the piano keys. The most common sequence is Star, Diamond, Flower, Heart. If that fails, look around the room for sheet music that displays your randomized key order.
The Final Door Codes
You will need three rapid fire codes to clear the final Surgical and Observation areas.
Backup Red Door: 7802. The digits are technically scattered on four sheets of paper in the same room, but you can bypass the scavenger hunt entirely.
Surgical Rooms Corridor: 231. Input this simple code into the three locked doors above the Grand Stitchery to gain access to the surgery suites below.
Red VHS Tape Cabinet: 728. Located inside Surgery Room 2. Use your UV light to scan the walls near the lab equipment to reveal this code. Punch it into the locked cabinet to claim the final piece of media for the chapter. Again, if you missed the first two, go check out my VHS tape location guide before the auto save system completely screws you over.
