PUBG: Blindspot Operator Guide: Stop Sabotaging Your Team

Selecting your operator is the first test of intelligence in PUBG: Blindspot, and honestly, most of you are failing it.

PUBG: BLINDSPOT agent selection screen showing "Whistle," a female character with black and white hair, holding a FAMAS assault rifle, alongside her stats, weapons, and the full Agent Roster menu.

I see it in every lobby. Everyone rushes to lock in the sniper or the guy with the coolest mask, completely ignoring the fact that we are about to defend a tiny room against five people with explosives. This isn't a hero shooter where you can solo carry the game just because your aim is cracked. This is a tactical nightmare where gadgets and synergy matter more than your K/D ratio. If you don't have a breacher for the walls or an anchor for the site, you have already lost.

The Aggressors (Entry Fraggers)

These are the operators for people who can't sit still. If you pick these, I expect you to be the first one in the room.

Collision: The Chaos Engine

Collision is arguably the most annoying operator to play against in close quarters. He rocks a pump-action shotgun that will one-tap anyone stupid enough to push him, but his real value is the smoke grenades. The problem is that most Collision players use smokes to blind their own team. You need to use them to cross hallways or cover a plant, not just throw them because you panicked. If you can't communicate your smoke throws, pick someone else.

Kayak: The Door Kicker

If you like making people rage quit, play Kayak. He carries an automatic shotgun. Yes, it's as broken as it sounds in close range. He is designated as a "breacher" because he can blow up barricades, but let's be real. You are picking him because you want to hold left-click and watch health bars disappear. Just remember that if you get caught in a long hallway with that shotgun, you are useless.

The Intel Gatherers (Wall Hackers)

Information is the only thing that matters in this game. If you don't know where the enemy is, you are gambling with your life.

Heinz: The Risky Peeker

Heinz is for the players who have zero fear. His unique gadget is a drill camera that literally burrows through walls to see what's on the other side. It gives you localized wall hacks. The catch is that you have to be standing right next to the wall to use it, which puts you in prime position to get shot through that same wall if the enemy hears you drilling. High risk, high reward.

Buddy: The Safer Bet

If you want intel but don't want to hug a destructible wall, take Buddy. She has a drone. It’s simple, effective, and annoying for the enemy team to shoot down. She also carries a bolt-action sniper. I usually hate snipers in tactical games, but her drone makes up for the slow fire rate. Just don't spend the whole round flying your toy while your team is dying.

OPERATOR CHEAT SHEET

If you don't know who to pick, look at this table and fill the gap in your team.

OPERATOR THE JOB
Dropdown Area Denial. Her gas grenades make rooms uninhabitable. Perfect for stopping a rush.
Zen Holding Angles. Marksman rifle + Stun grenades. Use him to lock down long corridors.
Apex Zoning. Throws "Blue Zone" grenades. It hurts over time and forces enemies to move.
Fence Camping. LMG with 100 rounds and motion detectors. You never have to reload or move.

Area Denial and Support

These operators are the ones who actually win rounds by running down the clock or forcing the enemy into bad positions.

Dropdown: The Fun Police

I love playing Dropdown because she ruins everyone's day. Her gas grenade launcher is the ultimate "no" button. Enemy trying to plant? Gas. Enemy hiding in a corner? Gas. It cuts off rotations instantly. She uses an M4 Carbine, which is arguably the most reliable gun in the game for mid-range fights. If you are new, pick Dropdown. You can be useful even if you can't aim.

Fence: The Turret

Fence is exactly what his name implies. You set up shop and you don't move. He has an LMG and motion detectors. You place the detectors on your flanks, mount your LMG on a piece of cover, and wait. It’s a boring playstyle, but in a defensive round, a well-placed Fence is almost impossible to dislodge without using a lot of utility.

Building a Competent Team

You cannot just pick five aggressive operators and hope for the best.

A balanced team needs at least one Intel operator (Heinz/Buddy) to find the enemies, one Breacher (Kayak/Karnival) to open up the site, and one Support (Dropdown/Apex) to cover the plant or the defuse. The last two spots are flex, but I recommend having at least one person with a smoke grenade for cover.

Stop auto-locking the sniper on close-quarters maps. Look at what your team has, look at the map, and pick something that actually helps. I'm tired of losing rounds because we have three snipers and nobody who can break a wooden barricade.
