REPO Complete Vehicle Guide: Stop Walking And Start Drifting

The days of manually hauling scrap on foot are finally over, provided you do not accidentally drive your new scooter into a laser grid.

For the longest time, the basic cart was the only reliable way to transport goods back to the extraction point. That sluggish piece of equipment got the job done, but it always left you exposed and crawling through dangerous corridors. The latest update introduces two brand new rideable machines known as Semiscooters. These vehicles inject a massive dose of speed into your runs. They also introduce a brand new way to accidentally kill yourself.

I have spent my recent runs rigorously testing both the Hauler and the Scouter. Buying one of these machines completely alters your approach to clearing a map. You suddenly have to manage battery life, monitor vehicle health, and avoid environmental hazards that will instantly wreck your expensive new toy. Before you drop a massive chunk of your hard-earned cash in the shop, you need to understand exactly how these Semiscooters operate.

The Hauler And The Scouter

You will find both new vehicles randomly stocked for sale in the shop. Their appearance relies entirely on the usual random spawn rates, meaning you might have to check back across multiple runs before one shows up. When a vehicle does appear, you have a crucial choice to make between utility and pure speed.

The Heavy-Duty Hauler

The Hauler is the heavy-duty option. Often referred to as the cargoscooter, this machine will cost you anywhere between 38K and 48K. That is a massive investment, but you get a lot of utility for that price tag. The Hauler features a dedicated cargo hold capable of storing small items up to a maximum total value of 20K. Once you fill it up, you can drive straight to the extraction point and deposit the entire vehicle into the extractor exactly like you would a standard cart. Alternatively, you can pull the items out by hand if you need to reorganize. The Hauler also comes equipped with a drift-boost feature. I use this constantly to whip around tight corners and gain immediate distance from pursuing enemies.

The Lightweight Scouter

The Scouter is your lightweight alternative. Priced much lower at 18K to 20K, this scoutscooter strips away the cargo capacity entirely. You cannot store any loot on this model. It exists purely to help you traverse the map at high speeds. While you might be tempted to use that momentum offensively, I strongly advise against it. Ramming enemies with the Scouter simply does not deal enough damage to make it a viable weapon. You will just end up damaging your own ride.

Vehicle Type Estimated Cost Cargo Capacity Special Feature
Hauler 38K - 48K Up to 20K value in small items Drift-boost capability
Scouter 18K - 20K None High mobility profile

Managing Battery Life And Durability

Owning a Semiscooter introduces new logistical challenges. You need to treat these machines with care to ensure they survive the shift.

Battery Drain Mechanics

Both vehicles run on an internal battery. You must charge them using the newly upgraded charging station located inside your van. This station continues to be powered by Crystals. You need to drive carefully. Every time you bump into a wall or clip an object, your battery drains at an accelerated rate. Careless driving will leave you stranded deep inside a facility with a dead machine.

Vehicle Health And Explosions

Furthermore, these Semiscooters feature dedicated health bars. The Hauler boasts a third more HP than the Scouter, giving it a bit more survivability during chaotic extractions. They take damage from a wide variety of sources. Hitting walls, ramming monsters, driving through fire, and clipping lasers will all chip away at your vehicle's health pool. Pits remain a massive hazard. These machines are strictly ground-bound scooters and will fall straight down if you try to cross a gap.

If your vehicle's health drops to zero, you have a very brief window to react before the entire thing explodes. That explosion deals a punishing 100 damage. It will easily send you back to the lobby if you fail to clear the blast radius.

Repairing Your Ride

You do not have to abandon a damaged scooter. Any structural damage your vehicle sustains during a run can be repaired back at the van. You handle these repairs at the exact same charging station used to replenish the battery.

I highly recommend topping off your vehicle's health and battery before every single descent. A fully repaired Hauler provides incredible utility, especially when you start prioritizing the newly added customization items. Filling the cargo hold with standard loot frees up your hands to carefully transport the fragile cosmetic boxes that now spawn across the maps. The King Of The Losers Is Dead

The vehicle update also overhauls the conclusion of a failed run. Previously, a total wipe resulted in a frantic fight to the death to determine who would be crowned the King Of The Losers. That combat arena is gone.

Instead, the developers replaced it with a dedicated Semiscooter race. When the run ends in failure, you now settle the score behind the handlebars. It is a fantastic way to practice your drift-boosting mechanics without the stress of losing a 48K investment to a random laser trap.
