How to Lower Your Wanted Level in Neverness to Everness Without Going to Jail

Staring down a heavily armed police force because you accidentally dented a streetlamp is a fantastic way to ruin your playthrough.

The city of Hethereau acts as a chaotic playground, but the local law enforcement absolutely does not share your sense of humor. In Neverness to Everness, performing illegal actions immediately spikes your Warrant Value. Things like stealing vehicles, smashing government property, or attacking random civilians will immediately put you on the radar of the authorities. If that internal meter creeps over a single star, you officially enter the Wanted status. At that exact point, the police will actively hunt you down and try to arrest you. I spent hours testing the absolute limits of this criminal system, getting thrown into prison and completely flattened by overpowered bosses, just so I could figure out the exact mechanics. Before you decide to go on a vehicular rampage across the city, you need to understand exactly how to shake the heat. If you go into a crime spree blind, you will end up locked in a concrete cell and drained of your hard earned resources.

The Consequences of a High Warrant Value

Getting a little bit of heat is an inevitable part of exploring the map. Sometimes you just need a car right now and cannot wait for a taxi. However, letting that heat escalate will severely handicap your progression. Once you secure a warrant, the game actively restricts your most basic tools.

Locked Mechanics

The moment you cross that one star threshold, your convenience goes completely out the window. You cannot fast travel anywhere on the map, and you are entirely locked out of shopping. You are stuck exactly where you are, forced to deal with the consequences on foot or in whatever stolen vehicle you managed to hotwire. Do not try to start a complex mission when you have a patrol car actively trying to run you off the road. You must handle your legal troubles before the game lets you resume your normal activities.

The Justice Executioner

If you stubbornly refuse to back down and manage to push your Warrant Value to the absolute maximum level, the game stops sending regular beat cops to deal with you. Instead, it drops a Level 99 boss called the Justice Executioner right on your head. During your early hours with the game, this boss will simply put you six feet under in a matter of seconds. It is a completely unwinnable fight for a low level squad. However, if you actually manage to survive and defeat this monstrosity much later in your playthrough, you earn a highly coveted S Class Arc. It is a high risk gamble, but I highly advise avoiding this fight entirely until your builds are fully optimized and maxed out.

Welcome to the Detention Facility

If the regular cops or the Justice Executioner manage to deplete your health bar, you do not just respawn at a friendly checkpoint. You get dragged straight to the Hethereau Detention Facility. This island prison forces you to stop playing the game you want to play. You must actively escape the island, serve a set sentence by waiting, or pay exorbitant fines to walk out the front door. Getting locked up is a massive waste of your playtime. Your main goal is to avoid the inside of a cell at all costs.

How to Clear Your Name

When the sirens start blaring, you have three primary methods to drop your Warrant Value back down to zero. You need to use whatever is available in your immediate surroundings to survive the manhunt.

Climbing the Property Ladder

Purchasing a house is not something you can do right out of the gate. You have to prove you are a functioning member of society by increasing your Tycoon Rank.

Escape Method How It Works
Evasion and Parkour Break line of sight and run far enough away from active police patrols to slowly drain the meter.
Coocoo Alert Furniture Enter a player owned property with this specific item active to instantly wipe your active warrant.
Mouse Cookies Consume a Goodheart Crispy Mouse Cookie to rapidly drop your heat level while on the run.

Evasion and Parkour

Your most basic option is simply running away. Your wanted level gradually decreases the farther you get from active law enforcement. The catch is that if a police officer sees you or gets near your immediate location, the meter completely stops draining. You cannot just drive in circles on the highway and expect them to give up. I found that the most reliable way to break line of sight and let the heat die down is to climb on top of the tallest buildings you can find. The cops struggle to track you vertically. Scramble up a skyscraper, crouch on the roof out of sight, and patiently wait for your Warrant Value to evaporate.

The Safehouse Strategy

If you have invested in the real estate market, your apartments serve as the ultimate safe havens during a police chase. The Coocoo Alert anomaly furniture is a default item available in every single player house. You do not even need to spend Fons to acquire it. When you enter a property where this specific piece of furniture is active, it completely clears your warrant instantly. The massive catch is that since fast travel is totally disabled while you are Wanted, you have to physically drive or run to your front door while actively dodging bullets. Keep a mental note of where your properties are located relative to your current crime spree so you always have an escape route planned.

Snacking on Mouse Cookies

If you are miles away from your apartment and completely surrounded by police cruisers, you need a consumable item to save your life. Goodheart Crispy Mouse Cookies are your absolute best friend in these high stress situations. Eating one of these specific cookies instantly drops your Warrant Value by roughly a full star. It magically pulls the attention of Officer Whisker away from your crimes, allowing you to walk away from the scene cleanly.

You do not just buy these cookies from a standard food vendor. You earn them by acting like a model citizen when you are not stealing cars. Returning lost items to a Security Office or resolving random City Violations out in the open world will net you a solid stash of these treats. They also occasionally drop from defeated enemies out in the wild. I highly recommend keeping a dedicated stack of these cookies in your inventory at all times. They act as an immediate escape hatch when a situation unexpectedly spirals out of control. Interestingly, you can also use your spare cookies as a secondary currency to buy items from the police officers stationed at Security Offices. If you select the dialogue option offering an extra cookie, they will open up a special shop menu.
