The Game Awards 2025: The Confirmed, The Likely, And The "Keep Dreaming" List

We are in the final stretch. In just a few days, Geoff Keighley will walk onto a stage in Los Angeles, wear a very expensive pair of sneakers, and unleash a firehose of marketing upon us.

Based on the latest press releases and the credible leaks floating around this week (shoutout to the usual suspects like DuskGolem), we have a pretty clear picture of what Thursday night is going to look like.

Here is the definitive breakdown of what is locked in, what is likely, and what you should stop dreaming about.

The "Confirmed" Locks

These aren't rumors. These are happening.

Resident Evil 9: Requiem We don't need to speculate if this exists, the Steam page is up, and we know Grace Ashcroft is the lead. The big question for Thursday is whether Capcom will finally confirm the massive leaks we covered earlier this week. Will we see Leon S. Kennedy? Will they name-drop the "Elanthropus" virus? Capcom promised a "terrifying new look," which sounds like a story trailer to me.

Exodus Matthew McConaughey's sci-fi RPG is back. Geoff confirmed a new gameplay trailer is dropping. Expect more time dilation mechanics and probably a release window that makes us sad.

Neon Giant's "Project Impact" The studio behind The Ascent posted a teaser for December 11th. It’s a shooter, it’s published by Krafton, and if it looks half as good as their cyberpunk city did, it’s going to be a visual feast.

The "Heavily Rumored" (90% Odds)

Death Stranding 2 (PC Port Date) Hideo Kojima is in Los Angeles. He posted a picture of an In-N-Out burger. That is basically an official press release. With the recent ESRB rating for a PC version, expect a release date announcement for the port.

Control: Resonant Remedy’s lawyers were busy this week filing trademarks for "Control: Resonant." The timing is too perfect. Whether this is a sequel, a spin-off, or a multimedia project tied to the Annapurna deal, Remedy is definitely showing up.

Silent Hill 1 Remake Konami has been quiet since the Silent Hill 2 remake launched, but insiders are buzzing about the next step. A Spanish magazine leak claims the Silent Hill 1 remake (also by Bloober Team?) is getting a reveal here. It feels early, but money talks.

The "Clown Makeup" Tier

Half-Life 3 Stop it. Get some help.

GTA 6 Rockstar doesn't need Geoff Keighley. They will drop their next trailer on a random Tuesday at 2 PM just to assert dominance. Don't hold your breath.

Bloodborne Remaster I am right there with you in the clown car. We honk our noses every year, and every year Sony ignores us. Maybe the PS6 launch? (I am in denial).

THE FULL TGA PREDICTION BOARD

Every single rumor, ranked from "Locked In" to "Delusional."

GAME / PROJECT PROBABILITY
Resident Evil Requiem 100% (LOCKED). Confirmed World Premiere.
Exodus 100% (LOCKED). Gameplay trailer confirmed.
Neon Giant's "Project Impact" 100% (LOCKED). Devs teased the date explicitly.
Death Stranding 2 (PC) 90% (HIGH). Kojima is in town. Ratings leaked.
Control: Resonant 85% (HIGH). Trademark timing is suspicious.
Silent Hill 1 Remake 60% (MEDIUM). Leaks exist, but might be too soon.
GTA 6 1% (LOW). Rockstar doesn't do shared stages.
Half-Life 3 0% (FALSE). It's never happening.
Bloodborne Remaster 0% (PAIN). Why do we do this to ourselves?

this year is stacked

This year feels stacked. If Resident Evil 9 and Death Stranding 2 both show up, the show is already a win. Anything else, like that rumored Star Wars: The Old Republic announcement, is just icing on the cake.

Tune in Thursday. I'll be the one crying in the corner when Bloodborne doesn't show up.
