007 First Light Guide: Winning The Jewel Of Jahari Cup Game
Street hustlers are annoying on a good day, but a street hustler actively stealing your mission funds requires a technological solution.
In Chapter 4, which you can track on the 007 First Light chapter list, Bond arrives in Pirate King Bawma's Kingdom of Aleph. You immediately hit a massive financial roadblock. You need $100,000 to buy a seat at a highly exclusive auction. Making that kind of money in the Aleph Black Market Bazaar is a serious grind, but you can secure a huge chunk of change in just a few minutes by winning the Jewel of Jahari.
Funding The Buy-In
Before you can even attempt to win the red ruby, you need to pay a $3,500 entry fee to a scammer named Aadan. If your wallet is light, do not stress about it. Just turn on your Q-Lens and look at the guards patrolling the bazaar. You will see yellow cash bundles highlighted right in their pockets. Pickpocket a few of them until you have the entry fee covered. (There is something very satisfying about funding a gambling habit with stolen guard money).
How To Cheat The Cheater
Aadan runs a classic shell game with cups. He drops the Jewel of Jahari under one cup and rapidly shuffles them around. Before you waste your hard-earned cash, you should know that playing fair is a trap. I tried following the cup with my eyes the first time and lost my money instantly. Aadan is a blatant cheat. The game is rigged so the jewel simply vanishes from the correct cup if you rely on your vision alone.
To beat him and pop the Cupped Challenge, you have to outsmart him using your gadgets. Here is exactly how you flip the script.
The game is a bit inconsistent about what the Q-Lens can actually see through during standard missions, but it works perfectly here. When you pick the middle cup, Aadan throws a fit and accuses you of cheating. Thankfully, the nearby guards step in and force him to hand over your prize.
Fencing The Jewel For Auction Funds
Now you have a giant red gem in your pocket and you are still banned from the auction. You need liquid cash. Turn around and look for your UI waypoint. It points you directly toward a nearby pawn shop run by a merchant named Nirmala.
Walk over to her shop, strike up a conversation, and tell her you have the red jewel. She will happily buy the Jewel of Jahari off you for $30,000. This covers a massive third of your entry fee. If you need help gathering the remaining $70,000 without grinding your life away in the underground boxing ring, check out my complete 007 First Light 100k auction fee guide. Nirmala herself will actually point you toward a few extra leads around the Black Market if you stick around and talk to her.
