ARC Raiders Rubber Duck Guide - Stop Looking on the Ground, Look Up
You are a highly trained operative fighting for survival against killer machines, and I am about to tell you why you need to spend the next hour hunting for bath toys.
I know it sounds ridiculous, but in ARC Raiders, these little squeaky collectibles are serious business. While the original yellow duck has been floating around for a while, the recent Headwinds update added six new variants to the loot pool. If you are a completionist or just someone who likes money, you need to know exactly where to look, because unlike standard loot, these things have very specific spawn rules.
The "Bird City" Condition
Here is the catch that trips everyone up. You cannot find the new duck variants during a regular raid. They are tied exclusively to a minor map condition called Bird City on the Buried City map.
If you load into a match and Bird City isn't active, do not bother looking. The new ducks simply will not spawn. When the condition is active, birds create nests inside chimneys. These nests are your loot containers. They can hold materials, food, and yes, the elusive ducks.
Where To Search: The Architecture Matters
I wasted a lot of time checking every industrial pipe I saw before I realized the birds have architectural standards. Nests only appear on Italian-style buildings. You are looking for those old-school residential structures with terracotta tile roofs and decorative chimneys.
If you are running around modern buildings, flat-roof warehouses, or industrial zones, you are wasting your time. The birds hate them.
Old Town: This is the gold mine. It has dense rooftops and tons of chimneys packed close together, giving you the best odds per run.
Village: This is the safer bet. There are fewer buildings, but also fewer sweating players trying to kill you for your plastic treasure.
The Ducks and Their Value
Not all ducks are created equal. Some are common trash, but others are high-value loot items that stack up to 15 per slot. If you find a "Familiar Duck," protect it with your life because it sells for a massive 7,000 Coins.
How To Farm Efficiently
The strategy here is speed. Chimney nests spawn once per raid and do not respawn. Your best bet is to load into a Bird City map, climb the roofs immediately, check the nearby chimneys, and get out. Running multiple short raids is infinitely more effective than trying to comb the entire map in one go. Just remember, they do not spawn in random containers or ground loot, so stop looking at the floor.
