Arknights: Endfield - How To Raise Authority Level Fast

The game doesn't explicitly tell you that your progression is about to hit a brick wall until you’re already face-first against it.

Four Arknights Endfield characters overlooking a misty alien mountain range and bizarre pink rock formations in a 3D action RPG environment.

I'm talking about Authority Level, the fancy term Arknights: Endfield uses for your account level, and if you ignore it, you’re going to find yourself locked out of the main story faster than you can say "gacha mechanics." It’s a soft lock, plain and simple. The game wants you to stop rushing the narrative and actually engage with the factory building and exploration systems. I learned this the hard way so you don't have to wandering around aimlessly wondering why the next quest marker won't trigger.

What The Hell Is Authority Level?

Before I tell you how to farm it, you need to know why you care. Authority Level is distinct from your character levels. It’s your clearance. It determines your maximum Sanity (stamina), and most importantly, it acts as a gatekeeper for the Main Story.

I found out pretty quickly that you can't just power through the campaign. You hit thresholds where the game essentially says, "You're not cool enough to enter this region yet." To fix that, you need Operational EXP. A lot of it. And no, killing random mobs in the wild won't cut it.

Protocol Spaces: The Real Grind

If you want the biggest chunks of EXP in the shortest amount of time, you need to live in Protocol Spaces. These are the Endfield equivalent of dungeons or rifts.

You can find these floating black geometric portals scattered around Talos-II. Unlike the open world, these cost Sanity to enter. This is your stamina dump. Every time I had full Sanity, I burned it here. Even if you're chasing other materials like Protodisks or T-Creds, every single Protocol Space drops Operational EXP upon completion.

The trick is efficiency. Don't just run them randomly. Check your Operational Manual (the Index tab) to track which spaces offer what. As your exploration level goes up, better spaces unlock. It’s a grind, and it’s repetitive, but it’s the only way to get mass quantities of XP when you've exhausted your one-time missions.

Stop Ignoring The Operational Manual

I know, menus are boring. But the Operational Manual is basically free XP waiting for you to click a button.

Inside the manual, you have the Simulation tab and Daily Missions. The Daily Missions are non-negotiable. These are stupidly simple tasks—logging in, crafting a basic item, killing a few things. They refresh every day. If you aren't doing these, you are leaving free Authority levels on the table.

The Simulation tab is essentially a disguised tutorial list. It wants you to learn how the factory machines work. Even if you hate the base-building aspect, do the simulations. They give you a nice bump in EXP and, frankly, the factory stuff is mandatory later anyway, so you might as well get paid to learn it.

Missions: Clear The Log

This sounds obvious, but I've seen too many people complain about being stuck while sitting on a pile of unfinished Important and Secondary missions.

The Main Missions give the most XP, obviously. But when you get gated, those Secondary missions become your lifeline. They aren't just flavor text; they drop several hundred EXP a pop. I found that clearing two or three "Important" marked quests was usually enough to push me over the threshold to the next story unlock.

Scrounging For Scraps: Exploration

If you are out of Sanity and have cleared your mission log, you can still scrape together some XP through pure exploration, though it's a pain in the ass compared to the other methods.

  • Teleport Points: Unlock every dormant tower you see. It’s instant XP and makes travel less miserable.

  • Mining Rigs: Setting these up is passive, but it counts.

  • Chests & Collectibles: Opening chests and removing High Voltage fences gives you a trickle of XP. It's not much, but it adds up if you're a completionist.

The Rewards List

Since the game loves to drip-feed information, I compiled the entire reward track. If you want to know if grinding to level 60 is worth it (spoiler: it is), here is the full breakdown of every single item you get for your trouble.
