Confidential Killings Walkthrough – How to Solve Every Murder Without Losing Your Mind
This game is brilliant, but it absolutely refuses to tell you when you are being an idiot.
Confidential Killings is a classic whodunnit that drops you into a crime scene and expects you to function like an actual detective. There are no flashing arrows or helpful sidekicks. You have to comb through inventories, read diaries, and piece together timelines until your eyes bleed. I played through the whole thing and hit more than a few walls, so I wrote down every single solution to save you the headache. If you are stuck staring at a corpse and don't know which name to put in the "Killer" slot, I have you covered.
The Early Cases
The game eases you in, but don't get comfortable. You need to identify every person correctly in the "People" tab before the reconstruction will even make sense. Make sure you are clicking everything in the environment before you try to plug these answers in.
Car Crash
This one is straightforward. It looks like an accident, but we know better.
The People: Bradley Fraser, David McCart
The Reconstruction: Fraser Bradley died in a car crash on Repose Street. Someone drugged his whiskey to make it look like he was a drunk driver. He was going out to sell drugs.
Mansion
Things get messy here. You are dealing with family drama and revenge.
The People: Pedro Diaz, Dominic Fraser, Kady Keller, Clarisse Lehmann
The Reconstruction: Pedro Diaz killed Bradley Fraser by sabotaging his car and putting Clarisse‘s sleeping pills in his whiskey. The reason for the murder was the accidental death by overdose of his sister.
Drug Party
This level is a chaotic mess of pills and pool water. Pay attention to the allergies.
The People: Patrick Raven, Finley Powell, Ivy Otter, Jeffrey Stainewitz, Jakizzy Kunta, Kady Keller, Jack Potter
The Reconstruction: Patrick Raven was killed by Ivy Otter. The killer sent him petals to cause an allergic reaction which made him take his pills, but they had been swapped with a different kind found in the bathroom. This caused Patrick Raven to suffocate and fall into the pool. The reason for the killing is the victim’s relationship with Kady Keller, who used him to obtain a role in the latest play.
The Showbiz Murders
Once you hit the theatre and the hotel, the cast of characters expands massively. It is easy to mix up the actors with the crew, so double-check your spelling on these names.
Theatre
A death on stage with a real sword? It's a cliché for a reason.
The People: Ezra Monarch, Jim Blaire, Jeffrey Stainewitz, Finley Powell, Martha Hart, Evelyn Cox, Tommy Moreno, Kady Keller, Dennis Miller
Costumes (Left to Right): Penelope Marshall, Finley Powell, Ray Mildred, Kady Keller
The Reconstruction: Kady Keller killed Finley Powell with a real sword, mistaking it for a prop. Tommy Moreno, the choreographer on the play, caused the murder by switching the sword with a real one. He was trying to get Kady Keller killed, but Evelyn Cox mistakenly handed the real weapon to her instead. Tomy Moreno‘s motive was revenge – he blamed Kady Keller for the arrest of his lover, Ivy Otter.
Hotel
This is a complex one involving recordings and a bucket of fireworks. Yeah, you read that right.
The People: Evelyn Cox, Kady Keller, Henry Marshall, Luke Dyson, Jeffrey Stainewitz, Ezra Monarch, William Sikes, Dennis Miller, Penelope Marshall, Jim Blaire, Dexter Marlow, Brett Richards, Martha Hart, Francisco Marquez
Voice Recording IDs: Man #1 is Ezra Monarch, Woman #1 is Penelope Marshall, Man #2 is Henry Marshall, Man #3 is Jeffrey Stainewitz, Man #4 is Jim Blaire.
The Reconstruction: Jim Blaire killed Ezra Monarch with an ice pick to his heart. Before the murder, Dennis Miller concealed a recorder in the writer’s room after he paid William Sikes to get his master key. The killing happened before Jim Blaire, the victim’s ghostwriter, found out the victim wanted to rewrite his screenplay. As a diversion, Jim Blaire had set up fireworks inside of a bucket in the lounge. It exploded in the moment Francisco Marquez picked it up, killing him without warning.
The Interviews & Radio Station
The gameplay shifts a bit here. You aren't just looking at bodies; you are interrogating people and breaking into safes.
Kady's Interview
Before you talk to her, rifle through the filing cabinet and the letters on the desk. You need the ammo.
Q1: Do these notes you’ve been receiving have a letter K stamped on them?
Q2: Do you have any idea who’s the man who sent you this? Or who is the patron?
Q3: We never get any complaints about these Ad Astra centers. They seem clean.
Q4: Dennis Miller, the gossip writer? What about him?
The Reconstruction: A string of killings surrounding actress Kady Keller has left her afraid for her life. She has been receiving notes stamped with a letter K. Journalist Dennis Miller requested a meeting at the radio station, but she suspects it might be a trap. She wants me to go there to check whether it is safe for her.
Radio Station
You need a code for the safe. I found it by checking Evelyn's inventory for her birthday. The code is 03081956.
The People: Greyson Davis, Penelope Marshall, Jeffrey Stainewitz, Jakizzy Kunta, Frank Gaines, Martha Hart, Mike Alvarez, Evelyn Cox
The Reconstruction: Mike Alvarez sabotaged the control panel in the recording booth intending to kill Dennis Miller during his radio program, News from the Stars which begins at 6:00 pm. But before the show, Dennis Miller stepped out to talk to Kady Keller, so Jakizzy Kunta had to replace him. When the show aired, the sabotaged control panel short-circuited, causing the death of Jakizzy Kunta.
The Final Stretch
The body count gets ridiculous in the last few levels. The Disco and Ad Astra levels are particularly annoying because of the sheer number of suspects.
Disco
Drugs and dead photographers. Classic night out.
The People: Amanda Adams, Greyson Davis, Mike Alvarez, Megan Hawkins, Dennis Miller, Frank Gaines, Sophia Smith, Geoffrey Donnelly, Zachary Pearce, Tobias Hobbs, Troy Dixon, Henry Marshall, Martha Hart, Penelope Marshall, Jeffrey Stainewitz, Kenneth Cleveland
The Reconstruction: A dancer at the disco, Amanda Adams, under the influence of the drug GAZE, fatally stabbed the photographer Greyson Davis. Shortly after, the body of journalist Dennis Miller was discovered slumped across a table, already dead. He had consumed a drink that had been poisoned by the barman Zachary Pearce, acting on the orders of Mike Alvarez, as confirmed by a photo captured earlier by Greyson Davis.
Ad Astra
To get into the staff CCTV room, you need a key. Look in Room 3 on the floor near the gunshot victim's feet.
The People: Adrian Collins, Jacob Byrne, Tobias Hobbs, Rebecca Simpson, Bella Fox, Martha Hart, David McCart, Luke Reed, Troy Dixon
The Reconstruction: Troy Dixon discovered that his manager, Tobias Hobbs, had been stealing his earnings for years and quietly sabotaging his marriage to actress Martha Hart. Fueled by rage and the drug called GAZE, he shot two people at reception and a security guard in the morning shift before finding and killing Tobias Hobbs, who was hiding in psychologic room number 3. Troy Dixon was eventually shot by a policeman after his revolver was already empty.
Timeline of Events:
Troy Dixon arrived enraged.
Bella Fox is killed stopping him.
Adrian Collins is killed before the alarm.
Luke Reed wounds Dixon but dies.
Jacob Byrne is knocked unconscious.
Troy Dixon kills Tobias Hobbs.
Martha Hart calls the police.
Policeman shoots Dixon.
Kenneth’s Interview
Same drill as Kady. Check the filing cabinet first.
The Answers: Mention the stamp, the murder letters, and Roman Lipko. Point out he died in 1952 (Korean War) and that he stole Dominic Fraser's identity. Mention the smuggling of GAZE.
The Reconstruction: Kenneth Cleveland, long linked to the case through his stamp on the letters, revealed that Dominic Fraser is in fact Roman Lipko, a former spy who built his empire through the smuggling of GAZE. After Cleveland attempted to force his way into the operation, Roman Lipko responded by ordering his murder in the desert. Kenneth survived and vowed to systematically destroy the empire Dominic built. He warned of an imminent incident at the Fraser mansion, urging immediate police intervention.
The Return
The grand finale. It all comes back to a toast.
The People: Jacob Byrne, Augustus Whitney, Clarisse Lehmann, Luke Hayes, Gideon Horton, Dominic Fraser, Preston Cox, Hadley Badman, Shirley Flores
The Reconstruction: Clarisse Lehmann orchestrated a mass poisoning by placing a toxic plant into the champagne used for the toast at the meeting. All attendees except Dominic Fraser were killed. He was spared as he drank only water due to his heart condition. The killer wanted to avenge the death of Bradley Fraser, who had been killed by Pedro Diaz on the orders of Dominic Fraser. The killer learned this information through the letters sent by Kenneth Cleveland.
Pyramid of Power:
Secret services: Dominic Fraser
Old politics: Augustus Whitney
New politics: Preston Cox
Medicine: Jacob Byrne
Law: Gideon Horton
Police: Hadley Badman
Media: Luke Hayes
