Crimson Desert Soul Spear Guide: Finding The Best Early Game Weapon

You do not have to suffer through the opening hours of this game with a piece of garbage wooden club. You can just go steal a spectral weapon of mass destruction.

Crimson Desert has a massive difficulty spike right around the time you leave the starting zones. If your weapon stats are severely lacking, you are going to get flattened. Fortunately, the developers hid an incredibly overpowered unique two-handed weapon in a dungeon that you can access almost immediately.

The Soul Spear boasts a massive base attack of 27. To put that in perspective, most weapons you find in the first ten hours of the game hover around 10 to 14 attack damage. It hits like a freight train and comes with a ridiculously flashy special effect. The catch? It is sitting at the bottom of a freezing, enemy-infested dungeon in the Argent Peaks.

You do not need to be a high level to get this. You just need to be fast. Here is the exact route to bypass the meat grinder and claim the Soul Spear. If you are still figuring out how to actually survive the freezing temperatures along the way, take a quick detour to my Crimson Desert beginner tips guide.

The Best Route To The Soul Spear Location

The dungeon you are looking for is called the Antumbra Ritual Grounds. It is carved directly into the side of a frozen mountain, and the elements will actively fight you on the way there.

Step 1: Head To The Argent Peaks Open your world map and look at the massive text spelling out "Hernand." You want to travel to the snowy mountains far to the west of the city, specifically aiming for the cliff edge right at the right tip of the letter "H" on the map.

Step 2: Conserve Your Stamina This region is freezing. The cold weather will aggressively drain your stamina efficiency. Do not sprint wildly unless you have anti-cold gear equipped. If you are approaching from the bottom of the cliff, remember to use your Aerial Force Palm (jump and trigger Force Palm) to propel yourself upward without burning through your stamina bar. Approaching from the Hoenmark Ruins high ground is generally safer.

Step 3: Breach The Antumbra Ritual Grounds You will eventually spot a large, downward-sloping structure built into the rock face. Jump and deploy your glider at the last possible second to safely land near the entrance.

Step 4: Ignore The Warpriest The front door is guarded by a massive Antumbra Warpriest. Do not fight him. You are here to commit a robbery, not clear the dungeon. Sprint directly past him and head through the open iron gate into the cavern.

Step 5: The Two-Story Drop Keep running past the archers and mages until you reach a broken stone bridge looking out over a series of octagon-shaped rooms. Stop here. Look straight down. Two floors below you, on the opposite side, is a lit-up room. Jump off the broken bridge and glide directly down into that doorway. The Soul Spear is glowing blue right in the center of the floor.

How To Fix The Soul Spear Pickup Bug

This is where hundreds of players are currently losing their minds. You glide perfectly into the room, you stand right on top of the glowing blue spear, and the game completely refuses to give you an "Interact" prompt. It is not permanently bugged, you are just breaking the combat rules.

You cannot pick up unique items while your hands are full or while you are actively engaged in a fight.

To fix this, you must eliminate the immediate threats. You do not need to clear the whole cave, but you must kill any flying mages or archers that followed you into that specific room. Once the room is clear, sheathe your weapon. Double-tap the left D-pad (or press T on your keyboard) to put your current sword away. Walk back up to the spear with empty hands, and the pickup prompt will finally appear.
