Everwind: The Complete Weapons And Armor Crafting Guide
Taking to the skies in a custom built airship is a beautiful experience until you land on a floating island and a skeleton immediately caves your chest in.
The combat in Everwind is not a casual, cozy experience. The enemies hit hard, your stamina bar drains terrifyingly fast, and your early game equipment is fundamentally worthless. You start the game wielding a piece of wood and wearing literal rags. If you want to actually survive long enough to explore the map, you need to understand the gear system. You need to know exactly what materials to hoard, what crafting stations to build, and when to invest your skill points.
If you are still struggling with the absolute basics of keeping your character fed and your ship afloat, you should pause and read my Everwind beginner's guide first. If you are ready to start dealing actual damage, let us break down the armory.
The Skill Tree Progression Wall
Before you even look at the crafting recipes below, you need to understand the progression wall. You cannot simply hoard iron ingots and expect to craft a massive longsword. The game forces you to invest in the Warrior skill tree.
I covered the intricacies of the level cap and the rune enchanting system in my Everwind combat and skills guide, but the core mechanic you need to understand for crafting is that higher tier gear is hard locked behind skill points. You start with access to Novice gear. To craft anything better, you must unlock the Advanced and Master nodes in the Warrior tree.
Advanced Bows: Found in the third tier, second icon from the left.
Advanced Weapons: Found in the third tier, middle icon.
Advanced Armors: Found in the fourth tier, second icon from the left.
You will eventually unlock Master tier nodes deeper in the tree. You have to balance spending these points against unlocking actual combat abilities like parrying or stealth. It is a constant juggle.
Maintaining Your Arsenal
Crafting the gear is only half the battle. Everything you build in this game has a durability metric. The second you start swinging a sword or taking hits, that durability drops. You will notice the color draining from the item's background icon in your inventory. When it turns red, the item is about to shatter.
A broken weapon technically still functions, but the damage output drops so low that you are basically just tickling the enemy. You must build a Repair Station on your airship and keep a steady supply of Repair Kits in your cargo hold. Never leave your ship to explore a dungeon without repairing your primary weapon first. If you are struggling to keep your crafting stations powered, check out my Everwind airship building guide.
You should also prioritize building an Upgrade Station. This allows you to dump specific materials into your gear to permanently boost its stats. If you find a weapon you love, upgrade it.
The Complete Weapons Database
Combat in Everwind is heavily dictated by your weapon type. Daggers allow you to unleash a flurry of rapid strikes, making them perfect for applying on-hit rune effects. Two handed axes and long hammers hit like freight trains but require a massive wind up that leaves you vulnerable to counterattacks. Bows let you soften up targets from a distance before they even realize you are there.
Here is every craftable weapon currently available, alongside its base damage, durability, and the exact recipe you need to forge it.
The Complete Armor Database
If you do not wear armor, you are going to die. It is that simple. You have eight total gear slots, but the left column in your inventory represents your core defense: Headgear, Chest, Hands, and Legs. The right column handles accessories like rings and belts.
You should also highly prioritize crafting a shield if you are using a one-handed weapon. Blocking a hit with your face is a terrible strategy, and parrying with a shield will stun enemies, giving you a massive opening to counterattack.
Here is the breakdown of the craftable armor pieces that will actually keep you alive.
If you find yourself hoarding old, broken gear just in case, stop. Throw it in a chest or drop it off the side of your ship. If you are playing with friends, you can easily pool your resources together to craft a dedicated set of high tier armor for whoever is playing the tank. I talk more about dividing labor and resources in my Everwind multiplayer co-op guide.
