Kingdom Come: Deliverance Is Finally Getting A PS5 Upgrade, According To The PSN Store
If you played Kingdom Come: Deliverance on console back in the day, you probably remember two things: a fantastic RPG and load times long enough to cook a real medieval stew.
It looks like Warhorse Studios is finally giving Henry the makeover he deserves before the sequel drops. According to a leak straight from the PlayStation Store itself, a proper PS5 version of the 2018 RPG is on the way.
This wasn't some shady 4chan text file. The Italian PSN store (and other PAL regions) updated the game's description with a brand new blurb. It explicitly mentions a "PS5 version" that features "graphical upgrades including 4K resolution, an improved frame rate, high-resolution textures, and much more".
NATIVE APP OR JUST A PATCH?
The listing phrasing is interesting. It says "The PS5 version," which strongly suggests a native application rather than just a patch for the PS4 app. This aligns with a discovery from last summer where a dedicated PS5 listing appeared briefly on the store backend.
I am personally hoping this is a native version because the loading times on the PS4 code were brutal. However, if it is a native app, the big question is save transfers. If I can't bring my 80-hour Henry over to the new version to finish that one side quest I ignored in 2018, I am going to be very upset.
THE FEBRUARY RUMOR
The timing here is interesting. With Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 now comfortably in our libraries for close to a year, Warhorse might be circling back to bring the original up to par.
Recent chatter on the game's subreddit has pointed toward a February release for this upgrade. While that originated from a classic "my friend works at Warhorse" claim, the sudden update to the store description adds a lot of weight to it. If the text is already translated and live on the store, the announcement, and likely the release, is imminent. Maybe they want to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the sequel's launch?
