Monster Hunter Stories 3 Hitlist: Every Location, Attack Type, and Weakness

Memorizing monster attack patterns is the only thing standing between you and a very embarrassing Game Over screen.

A Monster Hunter Stories 3 gameplay screenshot showing a Rider confronting a massive, white-furred monster in a cavern filled with glowing blue crystals.

I watch players complain about the difficulty spike in this game constantly, but then I look at their loadouts and they are bringing a fire element monstie to fight a Rathalos. The ecosystem in this game is dictated purely by mathematical advantages. If you do not understand combat mechanics and elemental weaknesses, you are actively choosing to lose. You can farm the absolute best armor sets in the game, but if you guess the wrong attack type during a Head-to-Head exchange, an Elder Dragon is still going to flatten your team in a single turn.

You need a cheat sheet. The Monsterpedia is helpful, but scrolling through menus while you are trying to prepare for an expedition is tedious and wastes time. I have pulled together the raw data for all 84 major threats you are going to encounter across the map. Use this directory to plan your specific egg farming routes or figure out exactly what weapon element you need to forge before you tackle a Feral Monster.

How to Read the Monster Data

Before you scroll down and start hunting, you need to understand what you are actually looking at.

A monster's primary Attack Type tells you what move it defaults to when it engages. If the list says a monster uses Power, you need to throw Speed attacks to counter it. It really is that simple. The catch is the Transform Attack. When a monster becomes enraged or triggers a specific elemental shift, its attack pattern changes completely. If you are not paying attention to the status indicators and you keep throwing Speed attacks after a monster shifts to Technical, you are going to get countered and killed.

The Elemental Weakness column is your primary weapon priority. Hitting a monster with an element it resists will drag the fight out for ten agonizing minutes. If you want to maximize your EXP grinding loops, you must equip the weapon that targets the exact weakness listed below.

Azuria Region Targets

The opening zones are heavily populated with basic elemental threats. Do not get comfortable just because the early hours feel forgiving.

There is absolutely no honor in blind guessing your way through a boss encounter and wasting all your healing items just because you were too stubborn to look up a weakness. Equip the right weapon, memorize the transformation triggers, and crush them.
