Someone Already Got Metroid Prime 4, and They Say the Annoying New Character Barely Matters
It turns out Black Friday chaos is good for something other than cheap TVs. It’s also great for leaking Nintendo games a week early.
While the rest of us were fighting over discounted toasters, one lucky Reddit user apparently walked into a store and walked out with the holy grail: a physical copy of Metroid Prime 4: Beyond.
They posted proof (a photo of the cartridge and the game running on their Switch), and naturally, the internet had questions. Specifically, we all wanted to know if the new, controversial character Myles MacKenzie was going to ruin the vibe.
If you haven't been following the drama, Myles is the new Galactic Federation character shown in the trailers. He talks a lot. He has a face. He feels very un-Metroid. Fans were terrified he would be a constant, chatty companion interrupting Samus's isolation.
The Verdict on Myles
According to the leaker, we can all relax.
They claim that Myles "comes up very seldomly outside the first section." He isn't a permanent sidekick. He isn't constantly in your ear.
However, he isn't just a tutorial character either. The leaker clarified that he is "not tutorial exclusive," meaning he probably pops up for story beats later on. But the core experience, aka Samus alone on a hostile planet ,seems to be intact.
The Game Is Apparently "Awesome"
The most important takeaway from this leak isn't about Myles. It’s about the game itself.
The user kept it simple: the game is "awesome."
That is all I needed to hear. After years of development hell, restarts, and silence, knowing that the final product is actually good is a relief.
Of course, take this with a grain of salt. This is one person's opinion based on an early copy. But if they are right, Metroid Prime 4 might just live up to the impossible hype. Now we just have to wait for the rest of us to get our hands on it.
