Stop Clogging Your Belts: The Advanced Engineering Guide To ‘MineMogul’

Building a factory in MineMogul is easy. Keeping it from turning into a jammed, laggy nightmare is the hard part.

A massive, automated mining operation within an underground cavern in MineMogul. Parallel conveyor belts loaded with orange resources feed into glowing, multi-tiered processing machinery.

Once you move past the basics, you run into the real enemy: physics. Items get stuck on corners, sorters get overwhelmed, and plates jam inside hoppers. If you want to master the chaos, you need to start thinking like an engineer. Here is the deep-dive technical stuff that the tutorial won't tell you.

The "Drop-Off Point" Rule

This is the single most important tip in the game: Do not clutter your drop-off point.

Every single item you mine has to end up there eventually. If you fill that room with crushers and furnaces, you will have no space to route belts later. Move your heavy industry into the large blue cave as soon as you blow open the wall. Treat the drop-off room as hallowed ground for final delivery only.

Complex Sorting Logic

Sorters are tricky. Here is how to master them:

  • The Sorter Lights: A red light means the basket is empty or the machine is jammed. Green arrows show flow; orange shows where the filtered item kicks out.

  • Gem Strategy: Never send Diamonds or Emeralds into a crusher; they will break. Use sorters to pull them out before the crushing stage. Also, don't waste time separating gems from each other. Just separate them from the ores.

  • Coal vs. Polishers: Never let coal touch a polishing machine. It makes the machine dirty and stops it from working entirely. You have to filter the fuel out before the shiny stuff goes in.

The "Y-Splitter" Sync Issue

This is a high-level bug (or feature) that drives players crazy. If you chain Advanced Splitters in a "Y" shape to split one line into four, they will often sync up perfectly. This means they all cycle left/right at the exact same time, effectively ignoring half of your output lines.

The Fix: Use a standard, non-advanced Splitter for simple 2-to-4 divisions. Alternatively, use the Mass Ore Splitters (which work great if the input is centered) or Splitter Chutes if you trust the physics engine.

The Art of Centering

Physics items love to hug the walls of conveyor belts, which causes jams. You need to "center" your items.

  • The Drop: Elevate your belt one tile high and drop items onto a perpendicular belt below. Gravity centers them perfectly.

  • Small Sorters: These always output items to the dead center of the belt. Use them as alignment tools.

  • Avoid Side-Loading: Ore crushers love to dump items on the far edge of the belt. Give them a straight output path or use a straight merging section to force items into the middle.

Robot Arms and Plate Jams

  • Hoppers Hate Plates: Plates are flat and wide. They love to bridge the gap in a hopper and clog the system. Process your plates into smaller items (like rods) before sending them to the final bin if possible.

  • Robot Arms: Use these to feed machines like the Pipe Maker. If you feed it directly with a belt, it gets overloaded. A robot arm paces the input perfectly.

  • Polishing Order: Always polish your materials (ingots/plates) before turning them into final products like pipes. Large items like pipes are a nightmare to transport and get stuck easily.

Verticality and Controls

If you are building the Vertical Bulk Sorter, remember: you have to fill it from the top. The outputs are underneath.

Finally, manage your grid. You can press "F" on any miner to turn it off individually, but you should connect everything to the belt network so you can use the master "Turn On/Off All" button in the menu. And if you are building up, remember the golden ratio: you can go up one tile for every two tiles of horizontal distance.

Now get back to work. Those 16 blast furnaces aren't going to feed themselves.
