Palworld 1.0 Meteorite Fragments Guide: Farming Space Rocks and Alien Mounts
Tracking down Meteorite Fragments in Palworld 1.0 requires navigating a vague dynamic event system and fighting off a few extraterrestrial locals.
Meteorite Fragments only spawn through the Falling Meteorite dynamic event. By default, the game triggers these space rocks to crash into the map roughly every two and a half to three hours of real time. When an event fires off, a large red text prompt flashes across the center of your screen.
Pinpointing the Impact Zone
After the text prompt vanishes, a falling meteorite icon pops up on your HUD compass. Follow that marker to the crater.
You need to pay close attention to your map markers here. The meteor event shares the exact same HUD icon as the standard Supply Drop event. Because these events trigger independently of your location, uncleared supply drops leave lingering icons on the map. It's incredibly easy to get turned around and sprint toward an old supply drop instead of a fresh crater. Always mine every meteor and loot every drop you see to keep your compass accurate.
Once you reach the actual impact site, you can pick up a few fragments scattered in the dirt. Mining the large central meteor itself yields a minimum of 30 fragments.
Surviving the Crash Site
Syndicate Thugs usually rush the crater before you arrive. You rarely have to fight them because the meteors also bring special alien Pals that hate the Syndicate just as much as you do.
Every drop site spawns at least two of these extraterrestrial Pals. Xenovader is your standard arrival. If a meteor lands in a high-level region, Xenogard has a chance to spawn instead. Getting a meteor to drop on Sakurajima guarantees a Selyne spawn.
The arriving Pals usually wipe out the Syndicate Thugs quickly and then wander off into the surrounding area. If you're under-leveled and strictly want the rocks, hang back. Let the aliens clear out the human NPCs, wait for the Pals to lose interest and leave, then mine the meteor in peace. If you want to catch the new Pals, rush the site and engage immediately.
Bypassing the Three-Hour Timer
Waiting three hours for a single meteor is a terrible way to scale your late-game production. You can bypass the waiting game entirely using the Pal Disassembly Conveyor.
Xenovaders naturally drop Meteorite Fragments when defeated or processed. Once you catch a male and a female Xenovader, throw them into a breeding pen. You can hatch the resulting eggs and feed the offspring straight into the conveyor. This turns a random, time-gated world event into a steady supply chain right inside your base.
If you prefer to hunt the meteors manually, you can force the game to drop them faster through the World Configuration menu. From the main menu, select your save file, click on Change World Settings, and open the Custom Settings tab. Scroll down to the Meteorite/Supply Drop interval slider. It defaults to 180 minutes, but you can drop it down to a single minute.
If you do this, you must clear the impact sites constantly. Leaving dozens of uncleared meteors and supply drops scattered across the map will strain the engine and eventually crash your game.
Spending Your Fragments
Gathering all these purple rocks is useless if you don't know what to spend them on. The crafting recipes won't populate in your technology tree until you catch the specific Pals associated with them.
The current crafting list includes:
Meteor Launcher
Meteorite Ammo
Paldium Fragment
Selyne Saddle
Neptilius Saddle
Xenogard Saddle
Xenolord Saddle
The saddles are the only items that justify the grind. Selyne operates as a top-tier flying mount, Neptilius handles water traversal, while Xenogard and Xenolord serve as heavy ground mounts. Unlocking these saddles transforms your map mobility entirely.
Don't bother crafting the Meteor Launcher. The damage output is noticeably lower than the standard Rocket Launcher. Furthermore, the Rocket Launcher uses much cheaper, easily accessible resources for its ammunition. Firing expensive alien rocks at standard syndicate mobs is a complete waste of your time. Stick to traditional explosives and keep your Meteorite Fragments stashed in a chest for the saddles.
