StarRupture Corporation Guide: Who To Sell Your Soul To First
Working for exposure sucks, but on Arcadia-7, working for blueprints is the only way you get to keep breathing.
You are essentially an indentured servant to six different mega-corporations. You send them resources via the Orbital Cargo Launcher, and they toss you a crumb of technology in return. The problem is that the game doesn't make it super clear who gives you what until you start dumping resources into them. Some give you essential survival gear, while others give you industrial upgrades you won't need for hours. I have compiled the list so you don't waste precious Titanium on a company that only gives you a slightly better lamp.
The Golden Rule: Gun First, Map Second
Before you look at the big table below, let me give you the cheat code for the early game. You have limited resources and time.
Priority 1: GriffithsBlue Corp. You need to get them to Level 1 immediately. Why? Because they give you the Pistol. Trying to fight the bugs with a mining laser is a death sentence. Get the gun.
Priority 2: Moon Energy. Get them to Level 2. This unlocks the Map. Playing an open-world survival game without a map is pure masochism. It also unlocks the Inventory Upgrade, which stops you from playing "inventory tetris" every five minutes.
Priority 3: Future Health Solutions. Push them to Level 3 eventually to get the Med Tool. Eating raw flowers to heal gets old fast.
Don't Waste Your Data Points
You will find "Data Points" while exploring. You can use these to brute-force your reputation level with a corporation. Do not do this.
Data Points are required to actually research the technology once you unlock the license for it. If you spend all your data points leveling up the corp, you will unlock the right to build a machine but have zero points left to actually learn how to build it. It is a classic trap. Save the points for the Recipe Station.
The Master List
Here is the breakdown of who pays the bills and what they offer. I have stripped out the fluff so you can just see what matters.
Keep The Conveyor Moving
Remember to keep checking the Corporate Terminal in your base. It is easy to get lost in exploring and forget that you have 500 Titanium Bars sitting in a smelter doing nothing. Set up the Commission, ship the goods, and grab the tech. The sooner you get those turrets and drones, the sooner you can stop doing the grunt work yourself.
Setting up a dedicated server in StarRupture is currently a bit of a nightmare involving hidden menus and manual reloads, but I figured out how to make it work. Here is the step-by-step guide to hosting your own game without losing your save file.
