Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced Guide: How to Farm Reales Fast

Running a pirate empire is shockingly expensive but the Caribbean is overflowing with wealth just waiting to be forcefully redistributed.

A cinematic naval battle in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced featuring two large sailing ships exchanging cannon fire on a choppy sea at sunset.

Upgrading the Jackdaw and restoring your Great Inagua hideout requires a massive mountain of Reales. Everything comes with a hefty price tag, and your starting funds will evaporate the second you look at a new set of cannons. Before you waste hours sinking random dinghies for pocket change, you need to understand which activities actually pay out. The remake introduces a few new economic systems while tweaking the classic methods. Blindly sailing around hoping for a big score will just leave you broke. Here is exactly how I fill my coffers and secure a steady stream of income.

Aggressive Piracy and Warehouses

If you want massive payouts, you have to get your hands dirty and take what you want.

The Art of Boarding

Sinking a ship from a distance is easy but it leaves half the loot at the bottom of the ocean. Boarding an enemy vessel will always yield significantly higher rewards than simply blasting it to splinters. Before you engage a target, pull out your spyglass. This reveals exactly what cargo the ship is carrying so you can prioritize vessels loaded with valuable Trade Goods like rum and sugar. If you spot a massive fleet, ignore the smaller escorts and focus entirely on crippling and boarding the largest ship in the formation to grab the Captain's Lockbox.

If you want to skip the naval warfare entirely, try a stealth approach. Sail ahead of a patrol route, jump into the water, and swim directly to the enemy ship. You can climb aboard, eliminate the crew in hand-to-hand combat, and scuttle the ship from the inside. Once you swim back to the Jackdaw, you receive all the money and resources without taking a single scratch on your hull.

Raiding Island Warehouses

Major settlements like Havana house massive storage facilities packed with trade goods. You can't just walk in and ask nicely. You need to locate the captain guarding the area and either assassinate him or pickpocket the warehouse key. Once you crack the doors open, you walk away with a massive haul of resources. These locations reset on a cooldown. You can actually force warehouses to restock their inventory by utilizing Kenway's Fleet, allowing you to farm them repeatedly.

Building Your Passive Income Empire

You don't always have to be swinging a cutlass to make money, and setting up a reliable passive income stream early on will fund your late-game upgrades effortlessly.

Great Inagua Protection Money

Once you take over Great Inagua during the main story, you unlock the ability to restore the rundown town and your personal manor. Before you spend a single coin on anything else, buy the Facade upgrade for the Hideout Manor. This unlocks the brand new Protection Money Box. As you explore the Caribbean, this box automatically generates Reales from the local inhabitants.

You absolutely need to return home to empty it regularly because it has a strict storage cap. If you want to increase how much money it generates per minute, spend some cash building town amenities like the Treasure Dealer or Fisherman's Wharf. To increase the actual storage capacity of the box so you don't have to travel back as often, purchase the Tower and Garden upgrades for your manor.

Managing Kenway's Fleet

You can access your fleet from the Captain's Cabin on the Jackdaw or straight from the Great Inagua villa. Instead of dismantling every ship you board, you can send them to Kenway's Fleet. You then dispatch these captured vessels on trade missions across the map to secure a steady stream of revenue. Keeping a healthy roster of Schooners and Brigs will ensure you always have money coming in. Keep in mind that you need to capture naval bases to open up new mission routes for your ships. If you're struggling with those heavy sieges, check my AC Black Flag Resynced fort locations guide for a full breakdown of how to conquer them.

Deep Sea Exploration and Bounties

When you need an immediate cash injection and don't want to deal with fleet management, you can always rely on a classic pirate treasure hunt.

Underwater Wrecks and Buried Chests

Synchronizing viewpoints reveals standard treasure chests scattered across the map, but the real money is hidden away. Finding treasure maps inside bottles will give you coordinates to buried chests that contain massive payouts and rare upgrade blueprints. Later in the story, you unlock the Diving Bell. This lets you explore sunken shipwrecks to loot underwater chests, which frequently hold upwards of 1,000 Reales. Just watch out for the sharks.

Taking on Naval Contracts

After you meet Milo near Great Inagua and finish his introductory quest, you unlock Naval Contracts. These are straightforward bounty missions that task you with hunting down specific targets on the open water. Always pay attention to the optional objectives attached to these contracts, as completing them will significantly boost your final payout.

The Trade Goods Economy

You'll acquire thousands of Trade Goods while raiding ships and warehouses, but you need to know exactly how to handle them.

While you can sell your cargo directly to a Harbourmaster or General Store for a quick burst of thousands of Reales, I strongly advise against dumping your entire stock. Trade goods are far more profitable when you use them to fund missions within Kenway's Fleet. You also need specific goods to complete certain objectives and upgrades. Before you sell your entire supply of rum for a quick buck, make sure you keep a solid reserve tucked away.
