Arc Raiders Expedition Guide: Where To Find The Rare Trash You Actually Need
Arc Raiders loves to make you scavenge for items you swore were trash five minutes ago.
One minute you are fighting killer robots for high-tech loot. The next, you are frantically searching through garbage bins because you desperately need a humidifier to progress your character.
If you are trying to complete the Expedition Project (which allows you to prestige your character and reset for bonuses), you are likely stuck on a few specific phases. The game suddenly demands household appliances that are surprisingly hard to find when you actually need them.
The Expedition Shopping List
The Expedition Project is the main progression wall in the endgame. To tick off the phases, you need to donate specific items.
The problem is that the in-game hints are terrible. They tell you to look in "Technological Areas" or "Residential Zones," but if you just wander around looting random boxes, you are going to be there for a week. I have done the legwork (and the crying) for you.
Here are the specific spots on the map where these items spawn with a suspiciously high drop rate.
Phase 2: Cooling Fans
The second phase asks for 5 Cooling Fans. The description says to look in "Technological" areas, but that is misleading. If you just loot computers and desk drawers, you will find nothing but disappointment.
The trick is to look for Breachable Electrical Cabinets. These are the large, grey server-looking units that you have to physically pry open.
Where To Look:
Dam Battlegrounds (Research & Administration): Enter through the main admin doors and zip up behind the front desk. Go straight, turn left down the hall, then right into a room with broken blinds. This room is packed with the cabinets you need.
Buried City (Space Travel): Head to the 6th Floor. There are signs on the staircase walls to help you navigate. This floor is usually full of breachable cabinets.
Stop looting desks. Start breaking into servers.
Phase 3: Light Bulbs
For Phase 3, you need 5 Light Bulbs. Logic dictates you should look in lamps or electrical stores. Arc Raiders logic dictates you should look under the hood of a car.
Do not waste time searching containers in Electrical areas. Instead, you need to find specific cars and breach their hoods.
The Magic Cars on Dam Battlegrounds:
Electrical Substation: On the south side of the map. Look for a car parked between the broken wire fence and the facility building.
Generator Hall: At the north end of the map. There is a car just a few paces southeast of the extraction lift, near some abandoned buses.
For some reason, these two specific cars have a weirdly high drop rate for bulbs. I usually pull 1-2 bulbs per run from these spots. It is a trek because they are on opposite ends of the map, but it beats RNG.
Phase 4: Humidifiers
Finally, Phase 4 asks for 5 Humidifiers. These supposedly spawn in "Residential" areas, but finding them in a random house is a nightmare.
The best spot I have found is in Buried City, inside the Red Tower.
Where To Look:
Go to the Red Tower building (near the metro entrance).
Climb up the ledge and head to the 2nd Floor.
Opposite the stairs, there is a row of Red Lockers.
These lockers seem to be the holy grail of humidifiers. I don't know why a desert tower needs so much moisture, but I am not complaining. Since it is close to a metro extraction, you can grab them and leave quickly. This is great for "naked runs" where you don't want to risk your best gear.
If that spot is looted, you can try your luck in the Village on Blue Gate, but the Red Tower lockers are the most consistent.
Good luck with the scavenge. And remember, if you see a toaster, grab it. You probably still need a few more
