Darwin's Paradox Discovery Guide: Exposing UFOOD Inc.

Hunting down corporate secrets as a tentacled anomaly is exhausting work, but somebody has to do it.

A small blue creature hides under a cardboard box on a rainy, industrial street in a Darwin's Paradox! gameplay screenshot.

The world of Darwin's Paradox is littered with 20 hidden Discoveries. These newspaper clippings and obscure posters flesh out the grim reality of UFOOD Inc., but the developers tucked most of them just out of sight. If you are blindly rushing through the platforming sequences, you are going to walk right past them.

The good news is that absolutely nothing is missable. The game features a highly forgiving Chapter Select menu. If you realize you missed a clipping in the first act, you can instantly load back into that specific chapter and grab it. The game even rewards your snooping. Every five Discoveries you find automatically unlocks a new achievement and a fresh cosmetic skin for Darwin.

I mapped out the exact location of every single Discovery chronologically so you can clear the board without the guesswork.

Down In The Dumps

The opening areas serve as your tutorial for finding secrets. You will need to backtrack slightly to secure the second one.

Down in the Dumps 1

This is practically handed to you. Look for a shining newspaper board. This serves as your basic introduction to the Discovery mechanic.

Down in the Dumps 2

This one requires some setup. First, distract the rat pack with a UFOOD can. Next, push a separate UFOOD box all the way through the long tunnel. When you hit the exit, use that box to jump up and to your left. Now you have to backtrack through the stage using the swinging claw until you reach a small, isolated zone containing the ad.

Down in the Dumps 5

Survive the green slime section and secure the ability to stick to surfaces. Once you have that upgrade, climb backward up the vertical tunnel that originally dropped you into the water. Check the left side of the wall to find the clipping.

Things Are Heating Up!

The factory machinery gets significantly more hostile here. You have to ignore your survival instincts to grab these.

Things are Heating Up! 4

During the moving belt gauntlet, you need to make a blind leap to a hidden area in the upper right corner of your screen. Use the corner of one of the passing buckets to make the jump. You have to touch a hot pipe to get there, but do not panic. You can safely survive exactly one second of heat damage.

Things are Heating Up! 6

Progress until you hit the second set of swaying platforms. This is the first time the game throws two swaying platforms at you simultaneously. Look for a small alcove tucked into the pile of UFOOD boxes on your left.

Hide & Seek To Kicking Cans

The stealth and vent sections are straightforward, but you need to check your corners before blindly dropping into new rooms.

Hide & Seek 2

This is entirely unmissable. It sits directly underneath the building you are forced to crawl under during the mandatory camouflage sequence.

Dang! This Stinks and Stings 4

Once you finally reach the mine section, ignore the main path and immediately take the pipe on the left side.

Kicking Cans 1

Right at the start of the chapter after you escape the seagull. Climb on top of the van and vault through the open window of the building on the right.

Kicking Cans 5

During the ventilation duct sequence, keep moving until you drop into a room filled with cardboard cutouts. Look up and enter the ceiling vent on the right side to find the poster.

Out Of The Pot To In Troubled Waters

The ocean areas are massive. You have to swim into incredibly dangerous territory to finish this checklist.

Out of the Pot and Into the Fire 2

Do not move forward when the chapter starts. Run completely to the left on the very first conveyor belt to secure this item.

Getting to the Bottom of Things 2

You start in a massive, wide open ocean area. Swim down to the bottom right corner to find a wrecked ship. You have to swim directly through the large chimney stack in the center to get inside the wreck and claim the Discovery.

Getting to the Bottom of Things 3

Located just to the right of the room containing the giant red button.

In Troubled Waters

Successfully avoid the first sonar ship. Look for a mushroom cave that leads downward and follow it to the bottom.

Into The Abyss To HQ Or Bust

The final stretch of the game demands perfection. You have to beat a strict timer and abuse the robot suit to get the last batch.

Into the Abyss 1

At the very beginning of the chapter, look for a cave hidden on the right side of the starting vertical tunnel.

Suiting Up! 1

The exact second you climb into the robot suit, ignore the objective and walk all the way to the left through two sets of doors.

Suiting Up! 3

During the sequence involving the moving platforms and red buttons, look for a doorway tucked into the very top left corner of your screen.

Training Away 1

This is a strict speedrun check. You have to beat the timed underwater assault course in under three minutes to earn the top score and the Discovery. If you mess up your run, do not restart the whole chapter. Just head downward at any underwater checkpoint to instantly reset the timer without having to replay the annoying martial artist section.

Training Away 2

When you enter the flooded room where the martial artists were training, look directly above the right hand entrance you just walked through. There is a small alcove hiding the item.

Really Weird Science! 1

In the massive starting area, look for the slingshot section that normally propels you forward. Instead of using it, climb down the right hand wall directly underneath it. The clipping is at the very bottom.

HQ or Bust 1

Inside the final ventilation duct. Just head slightly to the left before dropping down.

Load up Chapter Select, grab whatever you are missing, and equip your hard earned skins.
